En 1988, James Caan and Mandy Patinkin starred in the theatrical release of Alien Nation, a wonderfully designed concept of alien "refugees" - former interplanetary slaves - who landed on Earth and were given citizen status by the U.S. government (I'm resisting jokes here about how it's *gotta* be science fiction for "illegal aliens" to become US citizens that easily). In 1989, there was a telefilm continuation of the film's storyline, starring Gary Graham and Eric Pierpoint in the two primary roles, and bringing in stories with the alien family of Pierpoint's character, George Francisco, as well as the attractive alien neighbor of Graham's character, Sykes. The pilot telefilm was successful enough to beget a weekly series, but it only lasted a single season. Then, a few years later, a number of telefilms came to pass:The original film was put out on DVD quite some time ago, and in early 2006 the pilot telefilm and weekly episodes came out in a DVD set called Alien Nation - The Complete Series.
- Alien Nation: Dark Horizon (1994)
- Alien Nation: Body and Soul(1995)
- Alien Nation: Millennium(1996)
- Alien Nation: The Enemy Within(1996)
- Alien Nation: The Udara Legacy(1997)
Producer Kenneth Johnson now has information at his website that says the five post-series telefilms are also coming to DVD soon, and that he's participated in commentary tracks for them:
Alien Nation Movies are coming to DVD: Kenny previously recorded his director's commentary for Dark Horizon and Body & Soul. On December 27th he was joined by daughter Katie to record the commentary for Millennium...he has now recorded commentaries for The Enemy Within and The Udara Legacy as well .
With editor Dave Strohmaier, Kenny has created many special features for the movies:Fox Home Entertainment currently plans a late-summer release of the movie box set in North America. The International release is expected toward the end of the year.
- Extensive Behind the Scenes documentaries for each film
- Numerous Photo Galleries that include many personal pictures
- Concept Art and Storyboard Galleries and several Gag Reels of funny outtakes from the movies.
- There will also be a very special Family Gathering -- where the Alien Nation team reunited at Kenny & Susie's home to share their memories of all the fun they had making the series and the movies.
And Fox is also planning a unique, specially boxed set that will be available exclusively at ComicCon in San Diego this July to highlight an appearance by Kenny and many of the cast of Alien Nation.
Head on over to Kenny's site and check out the photos there, including a great group shot of the cast, as they are today, with Kenny hovering behind them all.

Yo nunca he llegado a ver las películas que anuncian que van a ser editadas, pero guardo buen recuerdo de la serie. Habrá que estar atentos, y ver cómo será ese box-set de la ComicCon aunque supongo que será imposible de conseguir :mutriste
