Despite not having a commitment from any of the principal actors from the first film, DreamWorks has greenlit a sequel to one of their biggest hits OLD SCHOOL. Todd Phillips and Scot Armstrong will return to direct and write the film respectively. There had, obviously, been talks about an OLD SCHOOL sequel ever since the original film was a box-office success but development seemed to go south when Phillips and DreamWorks battled in 2004. The director was unhappy with the studio using his films, ROAD TRIP and OLD SCHOOL, to market EUROTRIP, which he had no involvement in. At the time, Phillips told the studio if they continued he would not participate in an OLD SCHOOL sequel. DreamWorks ignored the threat and continued to market EUROTRIP the way it had been causing Phillips to tell interviewers while promoting STARSKY & HUTCH, "No, we’re not going to do OLD SCHOOL 2...I won’t do business with them." What changed along the way remains to be seen. Getting back Luke Wilson, Vince Vaughn and Will Ferrell, two of which command double-digit salaries, could be expensive for the studio. Phillips is scheduled to next direct SCHOOL FOR SCOUNDRELS with Billy Bob Thornton and Jon Heder starring
