Predeterminado I Would Only Rob Banks for My Family (Jason Reitman, 2015)

Jason Reitman, Nick Hornby to Team on Bank Heist Dramedy for Fox Searchlight
Jason Reitman is set to team with Nick Hornby on a bank heist film for Fox Searchlight.

Reitman will direct and Hornby is onboard to adapt I Would Only Rob Banks for My Family, a true-life story based on a Texas Monthly article by Skip Hollandsworth. The story revolves around a seemingly ordinary Texas family who pulled off two bold heists before they were caught attempting a third.

The family-themed project marks a father-son reteaming of Reitman, who also will produce the film through his Right of Way banner, and his father, Ivan Reitman, who is producing via his Montecito Picture Company. The two last collaborated on Jason Reitman's Up in the Air, which was nominated for a best picture Oscar. It is unclear whether I Would Only Rob Banks for My Family will be Jason Reitman's next project after he finishes up duties on his Hulu series Casual.

I Would Only Rob Banks for My Family also reunites Hornby with Searchlight. The author-screenwriter adapted Cheryl Strayed's memoir Wild for the specialty label. That film, which stars Reese Witherspoon as Strayed, opens Dec. 5 and already is generating awards-season buzz.

Right of Way's Helen Estabrook also is producing I Would Only Rob Banks for My Family as is Montecito's Ali Bell. Montecito's Tom Pollock and Alex Plapinger are executive producing. David Greenbaum and Dantram Nguyen are overseeing for Searchlight.

Hollandsworth's articles have long been attractive to Hollywood, with a number of his long-form journalism pieces in development. An article by Hollandsworth served as the basis for Richard Linklater's Bernie.

Jason Reitman, who last directed the drama Men, Women & Children for Paramount, is repped by WME and attorneys Alan Wertheimer and Kimberly Jaime. Hornby, an author who moves deftly between books like About a Boy and screenplays like his Oscar-nominated An Education, is handled by WME and Casarotto Ramsay & Associates in the U.K.
Campanilla, Tripley y Derek Vinyard han agradecido esto.
