Dear Sir
My name is XXXXXXX, I usually live in Miami, and my usual language is spanish (so excuses for my bad english). I've also an audition loss of 85% on both ears.
Currently I'm workin displaced in Malaga, Spain, and in my job I have lots of spare time which I usually use in watching movies.
My problem with you is, in fact, two:
a) I've been reading regarding some new releases on Region1, especially boxsets, like the new Film Noir collection. And I've come to find that most (if not all) of your back catalogue releases have eliminated the spanish subs. Why???? Please don't do it. As I can understand english, but my family can't, so they won't enjoy (and I won't buy) most of your otherwise exciting new releases
b) I've come to find also that both in my dear R1 releases and in my new-found R2 spanish titles, the commentary tracks are always unsubtitled. Why is that?
This second question is especially more dramatic as I've bought all the releases for the new Blade Runner box. That's US HD-DVD, Region A Blu-Ray and Region 2 DVD, all 3 in their own suitcase, except for the DVD, which I've bought both on suitcase and metal tin. That's 4 deluxe copies of the same release on my desk... AND NONE OF THEM HAS ANY OF THE (I GUESS) BRILLIANT COMMENTARIES SUBTITLED!!! Not even in english.
That's really disappointing.
I'm about to write to the association to which I belong in Miami, where we are more than 2000 hard-of-hearing associates, and ask them to do some kind of campaign, but anyway, I'd prefer to ask you directly for these issues, and ask for a reconsideration on the matter of subtitling. First, the spanish (which has been usual on all of your releases), and then, the subtitles on commentaries.
Thanks for your consideration and time spent in reading this.
Best regards
