Predeterminado Infocomm: pantalla para proyectar con luz ambiente

Okay, so I checked out DNP. VERY IMPRESSIVE! I'd say this is the best "black" screen I have seen...and I've seen them all. They are supposed to start shipping September and I have plans to call Monday about signing on as a dealer.

They can make up to 120" diag 16:9, which is a huge advantage over the competitors. And at that size they are seamless to boot. I found out that DNP is actually a Japanese company that does a lot with printing. They are apparently huge in that market, so they have the financial backing to make this happen (not a small rinkydink company). The person I talked to (not a DNP employee either) said that they are top notch in coating and printing stuff, so they probably have any edge over other companies in making this work right.

It is truely a black screen and has a 2 gain with a decent viewing angle. I will also say again, these are not really designed for dedicated theaters....they are for high ambient light rooms. But since a large percentage of you are in that market this is a real winner. Best part, they aren't going to be too expensive. A 100" retails for about $3400, which means it will likely street in the mid $2k range ballpark. Couple this with a decent projector and you have a real good plasma killer.

Enough blabbing, onto the proof pictures!

These were still shots taken. The screen was 84" and a standard 1.3 gain white on the left, the DNP product on the right. There was a high amount of ambient light and they even put a small spot light directly above the screen facing onto it.

I forgot about the frames. They are going to have a silver and black finish, so you can make it look more like a plasma with the silver or like a traditional screen with the black.

It is rigid so expect a large crate similar to the Silverstar.

The light at the DNP booth was bright. I mean, tons of overhead, many little spots and such in the booth, etc.... You could read all day long, I mean it was like having a normal living room setup with a skylight and several windows in the room. You really would not have to block any ambient light in a room with this screen whatsoever...even if it were shining right onto the screen. Again, they had a spot directly above the screen shining right down on the middle. You can't even tell with the black part, and the white is washed out.

    Slick indeed.
