Sharon Stone is going to star in a "Basic Instinct 2" after all.

Stone was suing producers for $19 million over the collapse of the sequel, but said yesterday a settlement had been reached.

Now, the film is back on - but with Shazza laying down the rules before she drops her gown and picks up the ice-pick again. She wants her clothes and jewellery from the film, presidential hotel suites, three nannies, two assistants, a maid and a 24-hour bodyguard.

Michael Douglas won't be back for the sequel.

es mucho Paul Verhoeven. Ya lo intentaron en Robocop 2, y aunque la película tiene momentos brillantes, no se, le falta sangre y maala leche que destila la 1º por los cuatros costados y que Paul sabe utilizar a la perfección. A mí me llama bastante la atención, y es que ver otra vez a la Stone siempre <img src=https://www.mundodvd.com/forum/emoticons/mola.gif ALT=":mola"> <img src=https://www.mundodvd.com/forum/emoticons/babas.gif ALT=":babas"> , espero que se curren una buena secuela, pero sin Verhoeven, no será lo mismo.

Aunque sinceramente no veo yo a Hollywood muy por la labor de dar el papel protagonista a una Sharon Stone casi cincuentona.
Casi seguro que le ponen alguna compañera de reparto jovencísima y espectacular.Al tiempo.

July 13, 2004 - Sharon Stone advised Access Hollywood that Basic Instinct 2 is moving ahead again. "We are putting it together now," the Oscar-nominated actress told the TV show. "We don't have a production schedule yet." Michael Douglas will not be returning for the sequel.


Basic Instinct 2 has had one of the most tumultuous development periods in recent Hollywood history. The pic has almost happened a number of times in the past but it fell apart in 2001 reportedly due to Stone's diva demands.

When asked if that was the case, Stone replied, "Well funny enough, we are making the movie now, and nothing has changed, so there you are."

Stone recently dropped her $14 million lawsuit against producers Mario Kassar and Andrew Vajna whom she sued in 2001 after BI2 fell apart. It was to go to trial this month but Stone dropped her suit after The Smoking Gun embarrassed the actress by revealing her list of demands.

There had been talk last year of replacing Stone's ice-pick wielding novelist Catherine Trammell with new protagonist Elizabeth Cole to be played by Ashley Judd. The pic would be retitled Risk Addiction and would use Leona Barish & Henry Bean's script for BI2 as its basis. Lee Tamahori was attached to direct.

Basic Instinct 2 is back on track with Michael Caton-Jones in talks to direct the sequel to the 1992 murder mystery for MGM, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The move comes within two months of the producers, C-2, settling a lawsuit with actress Sharon Stone over their failure to produce the sequel, which was due to go into production in 2000.

The trade says Stone is now set to reprise her role as Catherine Tramell, the manipulative, seductive novelist at the heart of a murder investigation in the original film.

Caton-Jones most recently filmed Shooting Dogs, and his credits include City by the Sea, The Jackal, Rob Roy, and Memphis Belle.<hr></blockquote>

Basic Instinct 2 is moving closer to getting the greenlight. The Sharon Stone sequel has secured financing from German film fund IMF3, film group InternationalMedia announced Tuesday. Variety says the move reunites InternationalMedia's Intermedia and IMF with C-2 Pictures' Andy Vajna and Mario Kassar, the team behind last year's Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines.

While it's still unclear when filming will begin, the budget is expected to exceed $70 million. Michael Caton-Jones is directing the MGM sequel and InternationalMedia said the male lead should be announced in the coming weeks.

Sharon Stone is also attached to star in Gold Circle Films' Cougars, a romantic comedy about a 40ish woman who falls for a younger man, which will shoot next year. She will also appear in Nick Cassavetes' Alpha Dog, which New Line will distribute<hr></blockquote>

Previous contenders for the role included Kurt Russell, Benjamin Bratt and Bruce Greenwood.

Morrissey's credits include the forthcoming Derailed, as well as Hilary and Jackie and The Wild and Wycked World of Brian Jones.

Basic Instinct 2 starts filming in London this March, with Michael Caton-Jones directing from a script by Leora Barish and Henry Bean.<hr></blockquote>
