En esto estoy con rohmerin. Siempre se ha dicho que el comité de la Academia encargado del apartado de película extranjera (ahora internacional) eran personas mayores, que eran las que tenían tiempo y paciencia (además de ganas) para verse todas las películas subtituladas que venían de fuera. Sería interesante ver si, como en la Academia en general, los últimos años han hecho rejuvenecer la edad de esos comités especiales.
Y desde luego, ese año (y mira que me gusta Volver) el premio merecido fue para la obra maestra (y no pocas veces olvidada) de La vida de los otros.

Eso desde luego, es uno de los mejores guionistas y directores de la historia del cine. No pretendía ponerlo en duda. Pero que solo lo mencionara a él al recoger el premio (no agradeció a ningún colaborador, familia, etc) tiene que ver con su fundamental ayuda, parece ser.

Elle, de Paul Verhoeven, el fenómeno de la temporada, para mí la mejor película del año y la mejor interpretación femenina que he visto en mucho tiempo. Nominada al Oscar por la fabulosa interpretación de Isabelle Huppert y ausente en la categoría de película extranjera. Ganó el GG, el CC y fue nominada al Bafta en película extranjera. ¿Prejuicios hacia Verhoeven?

en la famosa foto de Buñuel en casa de George Cukor se ve quien tenía tiempo para esos comités y películas extranjeras... los casi jubilados o jubilados. Creo que siempre, siempre hay un film sobre la IIGM.

Lo raro es que la conmovedora Au revoir les enfants no ganara.

Era la obra maestra Adiós a mi concubina, no La linterna roja (fue otro año) a la que ganó Belle Epoque.
Peor fueron lo de las espantosas Antonia, o Carácter. Esta categoría es un chiste muchos años.

Me encanta el triplete de Florence Pugh, es la consecución de un año fructífero. Está claro que es o forma parte de una de las revelaciones de este año. Además, es de aplaudir la consideración que han tenido con Midsommar. Esta asociación tiene buen gusto y se desmarca un poco de la sintonía general de ver los mismos nominados y nominadas en cada categoría, que aburre un poco siempre l@s mism@s.

Los premios de interpretación de Cannes y la crítica de Nueva York y Los Ángeles (como sabéis las asociaciones de críticos más prestigiosas de EEUU junto a la de Boston) son reconocimientos de grandísima valía para Banderas. Haya o no nominación al Oscar, que le quiten lo bailado.


Y Almodóvar reivindicado por partida cuádruple en las nominaciones de los críticos de Londres...¿preludio de algún Bafta para el manchego, tal vez?

El hype respecto a Dolor y gloria va en aumento. De sus posibilidades a nominación a 2 categorías, va in crescendo y podría aspirar a 4, las que son más obvias (película internacional y actor), más las que están siendo consideradas por muchas asociaciones o han sido preseleccionadas (director y música).

¡Bravo!

Por cierto, ¿soy el único que ve un tanto ninguneado habitualmente en la temporada de premios a Robert Pattinson? Parece que este año ha vuelto a pasar casi desapercibido con El Faro y High Life en lo que respecta a galardones, y con Good Time de los hermanos Safdie ofreció en su momento una de las interpretaciones del año.

Desde luego. Cinco premios BAFTA, si no me equivoco, y diría que tiene más mérito ganar frente a Mendes, en su casa (es británico) y el año que había arrasado en todos los demás lugares (Oscar, Globo de Oro, gremio directores...). Solo le faltó este BAFTA, que fue a parar a manos de Pedro.

La Universidad del Sur de California, todos los años, entrega un premio muy bonito (siempre lo digo). El llamado USC Scripter Award es el único premio que reconoce al guionista o guionistas y a quien o quienes escribieron la obra de la que parte ese guión adaptado.
