    Curioso que la crítica de Hawaii premie La vida por delante en película extranjera y no su canción, que es tan preciosa como la película. Italia no la ha escogido para los Oscar, ¿cierto?

    Intuyo que Maria Bakalova y Carey Mulligan se van a llevar un buen palo en cuanto vengan las nominaciones importantes, porque están teniendo mucho apoyo de los críticos y sus películas son las menos convencionales. Los premios de la industria votan diferente a las asociaciones de críticos y cada año dejan fuera a varios nombres. En sus respectivas categorías hay opciones más conservadoras y nombres tan veteranos e ilustres que sería toda una sorpresa verlos fuera.

    ¿Cuando son las nominaciones de los premios gordos?
    Italia ha escogido Notturno, un documental sobre el conflicto en Oriente Medio, en Siria, Libano, Iraq...

    Y la otra pregunta, las nominaciones de los Globos de Oro se conocerán el 3 de febrero. El 28, será la Gala.

    La Academia ha anunciado hoy una importante modificación en la categoría de Mejor Película Internacional.
    Ultimamente, el primer corte, la llamada "short list", eran 10 películas elegidas y 3 eran seleccionadas por un grupo de académicos .
    Este año, con la pandemia, se ha decidido, al no poder usarse el mismo método, la elección directa de no 10, sino 15 películas que conformarán la "short list". Esa lista se publicará el 9 de febrero.

    ¡Primer premio de la temporada para Ellen Burstyn! La crítica de Denver tiene criterio.
    Diría que es una de las categorías más abiertas, porque entre que Maria Bakalova está acaparando la mitad de la atención del circuito de críticos, que además doy por sentada que la academia ignorará y entre el resto de contendientas está la cosa muy muy repartida. El Oscar a secundaria es una carrera muy interesante por lo difícil de pronosticar.

    Cabe destacar del círculo de Nuevo Méjico, lo sorprendente que es ver una representante española, Amaia Abelasturi con Akelarre, que se queda a las puertas.En España está nominada al Goya y al Feroz como mejor actriz, en los Forqué ni estuvo nominada.

    Vanessa Kirby consigue el primer premio con Fragmentos de una mujer y aparece por sorpresa Mads Mikkelsen en mejor actor, dejando de lado los candidatos que suenan más fuertes.

    En cuanto a los black, nada nuevo bajo el sol. Al ser un círculo de críticos que representa un grupo minoritario, premian la opción más plausible o evidente que es Ma Raynes black y todos los cineastas más actuales.

    Lo que si estamos comprobando este año, es que cada vez más son presencia habitual las propuestas minoritarias por grupos étnicos cada vez menos minoritarios, y por nacionalidades diversas, distintas a la americana.
    El cine de asiáticos y el cine de gente negra está cada vez más presente, y eso se explica bastante con la introducción de nuevos miembros en la Academia, más jóvenes y de muy diversa raza y nacionalidad. Y el fenómeno parece imparable, que no va a ser flor de un día.
