Almodovar ganando por un Corto

No me sorprenden nada estas shortlists, son más o menos lo esperado: que ni Italia ni España pasaran el corte. Another round es la favorita y La llorona tiene la nominación asegurada.

Se han acordado de Amonnite almenos en la música, ya que Kate y Saoirse se han descolgado de la carrera.

En canción “Io si” tiene nominación asegurada. Veremos a ver si Sophia Loren logra ser nominada. Todo depende de lo que pase en los Bafta: si la nominan, que es muy probable, sigue viva en la carrera. Como los Bafta la ignoren, es prácticamente imposible ser rescatada para los Oscar sin una previa del big four (GG, CC, SAG o BAFTA). La nominen o no, ITALIA ha perdido una nominación por su mala praxis, podrían tener hasta 3 nominaciones y ahora solo podrán ostentar un máximo de 2.

El ninguneo a WW84 es merecido dadas las críticas hacia la película y hacia los F/X. Lo verdaderamente sorprendente de la categoría de efectos visuales es el ninguneo a The Invisible man, donde tenía la nominación asegurada. La película obtuvo muy buenas críticas y la interpretación de Elisabeth Moss ha recibido la atención del circuito de asociaciones de críticos con varias menciones para ella.

Yo que vi la película me pareció el Oscar más factible. Ahora creo que lo es Tenet.

La ceremonia de los Oscars se celebrará desde diferentes localizaciones, incluyendo el ya clásico Dolby Theatre.

El objetivo de la Academia es crear "la gala en persona que la audiencia global quiere ver" a la vez que se adapta a las medidas sanitarias provocadas por el COVID:

Es asombroso que en una industria creativa sean tan incapaces de generar una gala atractiva, y tan capaces de generar cambios absurdos intentando "modernizarse" para acabar logrando degradar su propio producto.

Lo de Tenet en mejor música debe tratarse de una broma ¿no?

La quinta plaza en mejor actriz está entre Andra Day y Sophia Loren.

A favor de Andra Day los académicos se muestran muy partidarios de nominar a actrices noveles cantantes, como Jennifer Hudson o Cyntia Erivo. La balanza se inclina a su favor porque está nominada a GG y CC. En su contra pesa que su canción no está entre las finalistas al Oscar, hazaña que sí consiguió Cyntia Erivo el año pasado, nominada en actriz y canción.

A favor de Sofía Loren no hace falta decir el caché y estatus que le otorga a la gala nominar a una leyenda viva del cine, no hay que olvidar que los Oscar es un programa televisado, le interesan reunir cuantas más estrellas mejor. Y la bonita canción de Laura Pausini también.

El gremio de montadores (American Cinema Editors -ACE-) ha anunciado esta pasada semana que el receptor este año del ACE Golden Eddie Filmmaker of the Year Award, el premio especial al cineasta que ejemplifica una distinguido logro en el arte y negocio del cine, será Spike Lee.
Se le considera merecedor por "sus 24 películas, sus documentales, trabajo para televisión, anuncios y videos musicales". Y también "por su faceta de productor, e inspiración para varias generaciones de jóvenes cineastas posteriores".

El 18 de abril, Spike Lee recibirá este honor en la 71ª edición de los premios del gremio.

Anteriores premiados fueron Quentin Tarantino, Kathleen Kennedy, Christopher Nolan, Guillermo del Toro, Martin Scorsese, Norman Jewison, Robert Zemeckis o George Lucas.

Los Oscars científicos y técnicos se entregaron el sábado 13 de febrero en una gala virtual presentada por Nia DaCosta, de la cual la Academia acaba de publicar un resumen en su canal de YouTube:

Oscar honorífico este año nada, parece, ¿no?

Cada vez que pienso en la cantidad de Oscars más que merecidos y no dados a ciertos directores(lo de Fincher por La red social todavía me duele) o actrices (las ya mencionadas Glenn Close, Amy Adams, Michelle Pfeiffer o Sigurney Weaver, entre otras)... Puf, la lista es interminable la verdad.

Joan Allen, la mencioné en otro hilo hace poco.

Comentar que de estos premios Satellite, en mi opinión, el mejor dado es el de la canción Io si, compuesto por Diane Warren. Escuché el tema que es favorito de One night in Miami y es horrible. La balada de Warren es preciosa y con esta serían ya 12 nominaciones. Ya le toca ganar su primer Oscar. Para Laura Pausini también sería un éxito para su carrera el haber interpretado un tema ganador del Oscar. ¡Bravas!
