Acabo de ver que la Crítica de San Diego, que está anunciando sus premiados, ha dado el premio de mejor pelicula de habla extranjera a Madres Paralelas. M´alegro.

Ufff... pues seguro que llega pronto otro tweet algo incendiario de Agustín Almodóvar

Bueno, me alegro por Michael Keaton y un poco decepcionado por Kirsten Dunst, que no haya ganado. La mujer merece todo.

Y en cuanto a los films de animación, Disney otra vez, es la categoría pendiente de aperturismo a otras opciones incluso más allá de Hollywood y el imperio del ratón. Que en los Oscar ganen mejicanos, coreanos, japoneses a mejor director o película está muy bien, pero quiero ver lo mismo en este apartado; que Disney tiene ahí su parcela segurada de exhibición ya que de otra manera pasaría con más pena que gloria.

¿Y dónde estaba "The Mitchells vs the machines", film al que Tripley mismamente colocó si mal no recuerdo el primer puesto de la lista de lo mejor del año? (no lo he visto, pero me consta que sorprendió para bien)

Soy consciente de que Disney tiene todo un monopolio y que por tendencia siempre se tirará por su historial, además de que los académicos, al igual que sucede con los films que optan a película extranjera, a lo mejor como mucho ven dos o tres salvo que se establezca un fuerte campaña de marketing para venderla, que a veces parte de una o dos personas muy vinculadas a Hollywood y que organizan sesiones particulares para mostrarla a colegas del gremio; en cualquier caso, al margen de la riqueza visual de Disney en sus proyectos, para eso ya están los Annie, no debiera la parte técnica disfrazar otro tipo de connotaciones menos logradas por mucha lágrima que insistan en derramar.

Bueno, yo no considero ni banales, ni mucho menos discutibles las nominaciones que obtuvo Kidman por Destroyer, Los otros, Birth, Rabbit Hole, El chico del periódico...

Rabbit hole, aquí traducida Secretos del corazón y Lion no fueron banales, y las otras lo fueron en el sentido que fueron nominaciones “de relleno” ya que ninguna tenía opciones de nominación al Oscar. Es lo que pasaba hacia 25 años cuando faltaban nominadas y metían de relleno a Julia Roberts, pues lo mismo. O con Meryl Streep, pero en los últimos años parece que la relación idílica se ha roto.

¿Otro? Ya lleva ganados la crítica de San Diego y Chicago. Vamos a fusilar a todos los miembros de la academia española por tan craso error.

Esta tremenda injusticia se debe ver recompensada con la nominación de Penelope, de Alberto Iglesias y del guion. 3 nominaciones y un varapalo para la academia española por cafres.

Penelope se lleva otro premio, compartido con Caitriona Balfe , por el círculo de críticos de San Diego. Este círculo premia a a Madres paralelas en 2 categorías: actriz y película internacional.

¿Y dónde estaba "The Mitchells vs the machines", film al que Tripley mismamente colocó si mal no recuerdo el primer puesto de la lista de lo mejor del año? (no lo he visto, pero me consta que sorprendió para bien)

Pues está donde tiene que estar, entre las favoritas de mucha gente. Mi lista no estaba ordenada por ranking, era cronólogica, pero sí, ahí estaba Los Mitchell contra las máquinas entre mis 20 estrenos favoritos del años.

Yo no paro de ver a Nicholas Cage tenido en cuenta por la crítica tanto en nominaciones y algún premio.

Yo creo que Kidman es esa atleta que adelanta a las demás en los últimos metros de la carrera. Muchos pensaban que Stewart iba a ser la Renee de turno que gana todo de calle, y como bien dices, este año, la categoría femenina es incierta.

Pues yo este año me alegro de que este la cosa un tanto abierta al menos en el tema actoral. Creo que pelicula y director estan bastante claros, salvo que haya una division de premios (pero creo que Campion y el Poder del Perro van como favoritos, salvo que el tito Spielberg adelante al final).

En interpretaciones ya no lo veo tan claro, Kidman ha dado la sopresa y ojito que de tapado puede dar la campanada como paso con Rami Malek que empezo a coger carrerilla y ya no paro. Este año parecia el año de Stewart pero ya no veo tan claro. Aparte quee ste año veo que hay muchisimas posibles nominadas: Kidman, Gaga, Stewart, Cruz, Haim, Chastain, thosom, Coldman, Zegler....Vamos alguna se va a quedar fuera porque este año el nivel en la categoria femenina es brutal.

Lo mismo pasa con Cumberbatch, ojo con Will Smith que le puede quitar el oscar al britanico, aparte que ya sabemos que a los Ocars les encanta cubrir la cuota de actor negro todos los añitos....me daria rabia porque Cumberbatch para mi es el mejor pero a saber....tambien hay anda un resucitado Nicolas Cage y Andrew Gardfield.

Y ya de secundarios puede pasar de todos Kodi-McFee parece claro favorito pero nunca se sabe y en secundarias tambien puee haber todavia sorpresas, lo veo todo bastante abierto que por otro lado esta bien porque le da algo de vidilla al asunto.

Tenía mi favorita a Kirsten Dunst que está excelente en su actuación en El poder del perro pero después de ver West Side Story, Ariana DeBose ha roto mis esquemas. Hace un trabajo colosal dejándose la piel en los tres tipos de disciplinas de la actuación: interpretación, canto y baile. Hace un trabajo portentoso, titánico, es verla y se reconoce fácilmente que se ha dejado la piel en esta película, un compromiso al 100% por este papel. No había visto un papel tan superior en interpretación, canto y baile desde la Zeta Jones de Chicago, que por supuesto Ariana está varios peldaños por encima, sus números de baile son muy superiores y su calidad vocal es netamente superior a la de Catherine.

No veo otro Oscar a la mejor actriz secundaria. A esta chica la descubrí en The Prom en una interpretación anodina en la que destacaba su calidad vocal como cantante, pero aquí en West Side Story está inmensa.
