Mala a rabiar. Incluso gustandome la trilogía (también la tercera) esta cuarta parte es una castaña. Totalmente innecesaria. De verdad que no se donde le veis la gracia a la película.

Pues creo que tenías un mal día cuando fuistes a verla...porque que te parezca mejor la segunda o la tercera.....

La vi anoche. La tengo fresquita e iba con muchas ganas. Scream 3 era un chicle muy, muy estirado y con esta ya se ha roto. Esto ya no da más de sí.

La peli es muy mala y la fotografía es espantosa, de la escuela de Kaminski, y totalmente en discordancia con el resto de la saga.

Recuerdo cuando llega Gale a la librería y se apoya en el marco de la puerta, su cuerpo parece recubierto por el aura de El Último Dragón. Un horror.

Estoy bastante de acuerdo contigo. De la que más sospeché era de la madre de Jill, aunque sería casi una repetición de la segunda parte (señora mayor, se entiende). Lo que me hizo empezar a sospechar de Jill fue cuando el novio llega a la casa diciendo que ella le ha enviado un sms. Y ella sube a ver el móvil y lo desmiente. En ese momento deduje que era él o ella. Y como estaba convencido que el novio no iba a ser, para no repetir lo de la primera parte...

Curioso que haya un doble final. El primero en el que creemos que Sydney muere. Eso sí que hubiese sido un giro para un Scream 5, protagonizado por Jill en plan víctima de otros nuevos asesinos.
Williamson y Craven nos ofrecen esa posibilidad para imaginarnos que hubiera pasado. Pero, rápidamente nos ofrecen un nuevo final que deja el status quo como siempre, como toda saga que quiera continuidad debe cumplir.

Eso ocurre en el 90% de las pelis. Cansado estoy de ver médicos con Macs, dudo que en EEUU haya muchas consultas médicas con Macs.

Pues eso precisamente me hizo que la descartara en un inicio, ya que en la 2 sirvió para sospechar del novio y finalmente no fue. Aquí es un guiño que, finalmente hace que sí sea un corte superficial para disimular.

Es que en el primer guión de Scream 2 Derek era el asesino, y el corte si era para disimualr. Ya sabeis que ese guion se filtro por internet y tuvieron que cambiarlo.

A mi me a encantado pero hay que reconocer que la peli ha sido un fracaso total en taquilla. En españa solo ha obtenido el quinto puesto cuando todos dabamos un segundo puesto minimo... :S Tambien hay que decir que la publi a sido malisima y solo ha sido por internet, poorque vamos yo por la tele no la he visto ni una vez anunciar... XD

Wes Craven habla del DVD de 'Scream 4'
Wes Craven ha hablado sobre qué incluirá el DVD de Scream 4. El director dijo que se podrán ver todas las escenas cortadas que también se filmaron y no se pudieron ver en el cine.
El director también dió las gracias a todos los fans de la saga diciéndoles que aunque Scream 4 no haya funcionado en taquilla el amor de los fans por la saga eso le hace no decaer.

A lo mejor ayuda algo a que la película remonte en taquilla, aunque para cuando se emita la trilogía lo más seguro que la cuarta parte ya esté fuera de cartel...

Bien. Aunque, espero que no metan muchos cortes para anuncios.

Está en 80 millones mundiales. Muy poco en términos absolutos pero ya es el doble del presupuesto. No sé si ganarán dinero pero deben estar bastante cerca de no perderlo.

Pues por el movimiento que ha creado en internet debería traducirse en mucha más pasta, se ha hablado mucho, aunque también es cierto que cuenta con una importante base de fans. A todo esto debo decir que todavía no la he visto, espero que no la retiren y pueda verla.

La ví y me gustó mucho, pero lo que quiero comentar es otro aspecto, no la vi en digital, la vi normal, y la calidad de imagen era penosa, solo recuerdo dos películas que haya visto igual de mal en el cine, "Mercenarios" y "Rambo", ambas son de distribuidoras españolas, mi duda es si son así de chapuceras las distribuidoras patrias o ha sido casualidad. O es que se vuelcan en la versión digital.

Yo creo que la taquilla final estará sobre los 100 millones, ya que seguramente a principios de la semana que viene ya ronde los 90 y falta el mercado japonés, donde la mayoría de las películas se estrenan más tarde. Si a eso le unimos las explotaciones domésticas y de televisión al final la película será rentable a la larga. Eso sí, no se si dará para una quinta parte o no. Por mi caso espero que sea así porque salí satisfecho de la cuarta y no me importaría repetir.

Yo coincido, Las peores películas en cuanto a imagen en cine que recuerde son Rambo 4 y Scream 4....Cuartas partes nunca fueron buenas
en serio, mala calidad de imagen aunque buenas películas.

Wes Craven ha hablado sobre la posibilidad de Scream5:

"Me voy a tomar unas vacaciones durante todo este verano. Tanto mi mujer cómo yo, produjimos 'My Soul to Take' y 'Scream 4' y ninguna ha conseguido el resultado esperado. Asi que, vamos a irnos a un lugar muy agradable y no pensaremos en la película por un tiempo."

Esperemos que después de las vacaciones decida por fin ponerse manos a la obra... necesitamos otra entrega de Scream.

Ojalá se haga la 5, estaria bien.

Quien sera el asesino esta vez? Un primo lejano? Me da igual yo no me la pierdo y se desde ya que sera una mierda...
Siempre aposte como asesino por Randy en la 3ª parte pero no, se sacaron de la manga un hermano...yeah! Asi hago yo guiones...Que gran personaje Randy Meeks...espero que le metan en la 4ª parte aunque no se como...

Cuidado con abrir el spoiler si no has visto la peli, pero me ha hecho mucha gracia el mensaje de este forero.

Yo la vi anoche y no me gustó tanto como esperaba. Han tenido diez años para currarse una historia mejor pero está claro que esta saga ya no da más de sí. Se sigue repitiendo el mismo patrón que las tres primeras:

Asesinatos, fiesta/reunión en algún sitio apartado, más asesinatos, policías muy incompetentes, y el personaje de David Arquette todo el día en el coche de una lado para otro sin hacer nada.

De todos modos si deciden hacer la quinta entrega reconozco que la veré alguna noche que no tenga nada mejor que hacer

la saga Scream es un homenaje edulcorado del cine de terror, el principal defecto de Scream, para mi, es que es demasiado light, si usas sacarina es dificil hacer homenajes al cine de terror, que es eso de que no hayan tetas ni asesinatos explícitos!!! Que venga ALexandre Aja a corregir estos defectos!!!!

Pues para mi la segunda y la tercera muy flojas, pero la primera y la cuarta muy buenas.

Supongo que a los fans d elas autenticas pelis de terror no os gustará porque a mi estas me encantan y la mayoría de terror ni las veo...

A mí me pareció un regreso muy digno de la saga, que entre tanto remake o precuela de clásicos del terror aparezca una cuarta entrega que es fiel a sus orígenes y que tiene un fuerte mensaje anti-remakes y anti-redes sociales se merece un aplauso.

Wes Craven y Kevin Williamson consiguen recuperar a sus queridos personajes y meterlos de lleno en un nuevo e intrigante caso donde todos son sospechosos. Con un Ghostface más sanguinario y manteniendo la autoparodia del cine de terror y los comentarios del cine dentro del cine.

Yo me lo pase pipa en el cine viendola,y lo volvería a repetir. Una pena que fuera un fracaso y, encima de las peleas entre Kevin Williamson y los productores Bob y Harvey Weinstein, la idea de una quinta entrega siga en el aire (espero que no vuelvan a esperar 11 años desde la última película).

WHY SCREAM 4 IS AN UNDERRATED FRANCHISE AND HORROR SEQUEL MASTERPIECE

People may complain about remakes now, but a decade ago, it seemed as though we were getting retreads of every old horror movie imaginable. There was a rebooted Friday the 13th, a new The Last House on the Left, and even a revived Children of the Corn, to name but a few. However, it was 2011's Scream 4 that used the reboot format to add something meaningful to its franchise. Original stars David Arquette, Neve Campbell, and Courteney Cox returned for a film that would serve as the perfect satire of the horror remake trend, and also our collective fixation around going viral years before we realized that was a cultural phenomenon.

Though a big focus of the movie's plot and meta-commentary revolves around remakes, Scream 4 has more in common with the sort of reboot we're seeing today in movies like 2018's Halloween. Wes Craven's final film in the Scream world takes us back to the town of Woodsboro on the 15th anniversary of the original massacres, and surprise, surprise — Ghostface is on another killing spree. The original (surviving) cast is back, with Campbell's Sydney now on a promotional tour to promote her autobiography, though she's forced to confront traumas once the killings begin.

This take on Scream finds a balance between remaking the basic plot structure of the first film for a generation too young to have watched the original in theaters, while still acknowledging how the passage of time affected both the characters and the franchise as a whole. Sidney is no longer the terrified final girl, but a seasoned veteran returning home and finding that she no longer belongs there because of the numerous ghosts that surround her. This is also a rare horror film to actually embrace the technology of the time it was made. There is no need for landlines or lack of phone signals, and the internet (particularly social media) is a big part of the plot. The murders are bigger and more violent as the new Ghostface is trying to present their work to the world.

Rather than trying to replicate the success of the original Scream while changing everything that made it unique in the first place, this film dives right into what you love about the original — then asks the audience why exactly they'd want to see that being done again. In the genius opening sequence, we see two girls watching scenes from the in-universe Stab franchise, which recreates the original opening for Scream in increasingly ludicrous ways. One of them describes how the franchise lost its way by introducing time travel, which is even funnier today since the Paranormal Activity franchise would end up introducing time travel in its fifth movie, which came out three years after Scream 4.

The strength of Scream 4, and the way it answers the question, lies in the young cast who now must face Ghostface just like Sidney's generation did. Given that the franchise has always been a bit of a whodunnit, the film anticipates who the audience will suspect by tying the character archetypes to the original film before pulling the rug from under them.

Alison Brie's ruthless and opportunistic Rebecca Walters is a clear stand-in for Gale Weathers, without any of her charm or survival instinct. Hayden Panettiere's Kirby starts out as a new Tatum Riley, the best friend to the protagonist who doesn't really care about what's going on, and is there mostly to support the new final girl. However, it quickly becomes clear that she's more of an inversion on the male film nerd that Randy was in the first one, as she becomes the only character to beat Ghostface's horror trivia while trying to save Rory Culkin's Charlie, and then acts more like Sidney in how she confronts and tries to fight Ghostface. Likewise, Charlie's initial analog for Randy actually ends up as the new version of Matthew Lillard's Stu.

Then there's the film's big bad evil gal, Jill (Emma Roberts), Sidney's estranged cousin and the ostensible protagonist of the film. Of course, in the movie's big plot twist, we find out that she's actually the new Billy Loomis, jealous of Sidney's fame and desperate for her own 15 minutes in her spotlight. Jill is not only a fresh take on the idea of the final girl but a phenomenal villain in the larger slasher genre canon. Getting a female slasher villain is rare enough, but Wes Craven and writer Kevin Williamson also manage to load the reveal with ripping social commentary on our obsession with fame in the internet age.

Where the original cast of Scream was interested in partying and hooking up, like the casts of classic '80s horror films, Jill and her classmates have one goal in mind: going viral. Robbie Mercer (Erik Knudsen) serves as Vice President of the Woodsboro High Cinema Club, and is seen constantly recording everything he does for his blog in order to gain followers — the film came out the same year Twitch launched and kickstarted a new age of live streaming. Meanwhile, Jill is shown to be very interested in her cousin Sidney's fame, dismissing her traumas but focusing on "Sidney, the famous writer."

At the climax of the film, Sidney asks Jill why she would kill her friends, to which Jill responds "I don't need friends. I need fans." She believes that going to school and get a job is no longer enough in the internet age, you also have to adopt an online persona that people will follow — and the perfect way of getting that is by becoming a final girl. When looking at the trajectory of the Scream movies, this is just the natural step forward from Billy and Stu's original plans: using violence and murder to achieve fame. Watching the film in 2021 creates a new meaning that's scarier because of how real it feels; there's the knowledge that social media can give an audience to someone willing to commit horrible crimes just for some clicks.

Scream 4 came at a time when horror audiences were just getting used to the idea of horror remakes becoming a trend, but before they had seen enough of them to want to satirize and make fun of them. Nowadays, we've seen plenty of horror remakes and reboots both fail miserably and earn enough success to make people want more, culminating in the announcement of a fifth Scream. The question now becomes, can a Scream 5 say anything about "lega-sequels" that Scream 4 didn't already say a decade ago?
