La verdadera historia de la Banda de Kelly (True History of the Kelly Gang, 2019, Justin Kurzel)
El director Justin Kurzel (Macbeth, Assassin's Creed) se hará cargo de "True History of the Kelly Gang", basada en la novela homónima, ganadora del premio Booker de Peter Carey, y que ha adaptado Shaun Grant (Jasper Jones).
El reparto estará formado por Russell Crowe, George MacKay, Nicholas Hoult, Essie Davis, Sean Keenan, Harry Greenwood, Thomasin McKenzie y Earl Cave.
Seguirá la historia del notorio Ned Kelly (Mackay), uno de los mayores forajidos del mundo, y el yermo colonial del que se levantó.
El rodaje se iniciara en Australia el próximo mes de marzo.

Vista en el cine (Film Fest BCN). Bastante bien aunque es de las que dudo que vuelva a ver: es cruda, directa, sin capas. Tal vez le ha faltado algo de reposo y de observación de los personajes. La historia tampoco es que esté bien aprovechada. George Mackay, lo mejor del film.

Me ha aburrido mortalmente. Todo estilo y poca sustancia. Narración torpe, personajes sin ningún atractivo. Se me ha hecho eterna.

Crítica de la película
Essie Davis es lo mejor del film pero, ciertamente, es un poco plomiza y sobre todo nada atractiva.

Acabada de ver en blu-ray, efectivamente el film tal vez adolece de una narrativa algo caótica aunque no se me ha hecho larga o aburrida en ese aspecto. Destacaría su su tono estético, son esos toques anacrónicos que presenta, que a mí me ha gustado y lo entregado del reparto con George MacKay a la cabeza. Respecto a los personajes, a mí que se presenten de forma tan directa no los quita atractivo.
