I watched it last night and I thought it was a pretty cool chase movie. It was pretty fucked up like those old late 60's early 70's movies like "Easy Rider" and "Midnight Cowboy". Drugs, free love, thin plot, bad dialogue etc. But sometimes you just have to take it all in the context of the times in which these films were made.
I was surprised because i thought that Audioslave and Director shot all of these scenes for SMHTL this year. However, the video is not a remake of the movie really, they actually use most of the scenes from the film and just put them in the video. You'll know it when you see that that the Radio announcer, SuperSoul, is the same dude. The old cowboy guy looking out the window is the same guy etc. The rattlesnakes flying out of the basket is the same. It appears that they just added the scenes with the band in place. They did a good job though, and it looks like they used the very same sites from the movie where they had to adapt the video with the band in it: For instance, the performance bit on the little wooden stage appears to be the same location as the faith-healer concert part of the movie, also the place that they drive to in the desert and get out of the Challenger to contemplate appears to be the same location as well.
Once you watch the movie, you'll also see that Chris is actually 'acting' here...he's got the same demeanor and the same facial expressions as the character Kowalski from the film. Cool as a cucomber when he's running cops off the road and driving into the excavator things at the end. It's a great video and with a lot of consideration to detail when you consider how well they adapted from the film.
The Movie was Directed By Richard C Sarafian.
