<blockquote>Quote:<hr>Sigourney Weaver has always been pretty vocal about the fact that about the only way you could get her to return to the world of anything slimy, scaly or tanked with acid, is if original "Alien" director Ridley Scott returns to the fold.
Talking to IGN Filmforce, Scott says Weaver should've asked him the second time - then he might have even done "Aliens". "She should have asked me the second time," Scott says, sounding slightly resentful that he was never asked to steer the sequel.
Asked whether he'd be keen to direct an "Alien 5", Scott said : "It's all to do with the material. If the script is great, of course."
Weaver has said in the past that she believed a good idea for a fifth "Alien" would be to make it like the first film - and possibly set it on the Alien's home planet.
While he ponders that more, one sequel it looks like he's definitely doing is "Gladiator 2". "We're trying to find a good solution for a sequel. [The script] is not quite there yet. Remember, there's no Maximus anymore, so I think the task is more difficult. There is a next generation idea, but the thing is, it's very loose at the moment."<hr></blockquote>
