"If you're in any way a fan of the Alien franchise, you will absolutely love this movie," composer Benjamin Wallfisch tells me over a wider Zoom call about his work on another long-awaited sequel: Twisters (now playing in theaters everywhere). He continues: "I feel very fortunate to have been tasked with following in the footsteps of my heroes, — like I was lucky enough to do with my good friend Hans Zimmer with Blade Runner 2049. From a very young age, I've always been utterly terrified and fascinated with the [Jerry] Goldsmith and [James] Horner scores [of the first two movies]. When that opportunity came, it was just such an amazing moment for me. think Fede's done something very unique. I'm incredibly excited for people to see that film. It's very, very special and it was a huge challenge in the best possible way. The film had an incredibly high bar, as does Twisters. It was a wonderful journey to try and hit it."
