No le quiero estropearle la fiesta a nadie pero han entrevistado a Cameron y esto es lo que dice:

"Es espectacular, hemos quitado por completo el ruido y el grano, corregido los colores en cada fotograma y se ve increíble. Se ve mejor que lo que se vió originalmente en los cines.
La imagen está sacada de un nuevo negativo en alta velocidad sin tratar, por lo que se le pudo quitar el grano en su totalidad y ahora se ve más nítida y clara que nunca.”

Vamos, que le han metido DNR para parar un tren.

Según The Digital Bits: personas de confianza aseguran que el resultado es excelente. Se ha eliminado grano con cuidado, manteniendo el detalle e integridad de la imagen.
Y queda algo de grano, aunque Cameron decía que se había eliminado todo:

First up today, there's been a small degree of panic in some quarters online in the last couple days about director James Cameron's recent comments on the remastered Aliens transfer. Cameron was video interviewed over at Coming Soon.net about Avatar, and about 5:30 into the clip he talks about the new Aliens HD master for the upcoming Blu-ray. To quote: "It's spectacular. We went in and completely de-noised it, de-grained it, up-rezzed, color-corrected every frame, and it looks amazing. It looks better that it looked in the theaters originally. Because it was shot on a high-speed negative that was a new negative that didn't pan out too well and got replaced the following year. So it's pretty grainy. We got rid of all the grain. It's sharper and clearer and more beautiful than it's ever looked. And we did that to the long version, to the 'director's cut' or the extended play."

As you might expect, all that talk of de-noising and de-graining has some fans freaked out that the release is going to suffer the same excessively DNR-ed fate as Fox's recent Predator: Ultimate Hunter Blu-ray. Here's the deal: Everyone we trust who was involved, and/or has actually SEEN the new Aliens HD master for Blu-ray, reports to us that the film looks terrific. To the degree that DNR was used, it was applied carefully and with a light hand, with an eye toward striking the proper balance between maintaining the detail and integrity of the image and the desire to reduce grain and address the deficiencies of the stock used at the time. There is apparently STILL grain left in the image, it's just no longer excessive or distracting. Plus, Cameron is no slouch when it comes to the presentation quality of his films on disc, and he approved this transfer and master. Look, there's a VERY big difference in digital mastering when the filmmakers are directly involved in the process, as opposed to when they're not. So we're told the disc looks great, we trust that it looks great and I'll personally work to directly confirm that. My own feeling is that Predator was probably an aberration. Fox has generally been doing very good mastering work for Blu-ray in the last year or so, and I suspect this is going to be a non-issue when we all get our hands on the Aliens disc. Luego llenaremos libros enteros hablando del respeto a la obra del artista tal y como fue concebida, y yo el primero; pero, digo yo, ¿qué hacer con "artistas" que se han perdido el respeto a sí mismos? Cuando veamos las imágenes podremos opinar.... ¿sobre qué? si el propio Cameron dice lo que dice, lo que tendremos que hacer es ponernos las gafas de no ver o de ver lo que queramos ver, pero con esas palabras está todo dicho.

Y el tío lo dice orgulloso: "le hemos quitado el grano en su totalidad y ahora se ve más nítida...". A lu ci nan te. Y hay antecedentes, no nos pillará de sorpresa (terminator, por ejemplo). Mis dvds de la saga se van a volver a revalorizar UN HUEVO. Ah, encicma dice que "han retocado el color en cada fotograma"

Mantengo mi preorder francés, que además ha vuelto a bajar de precio (120), porque independientemente de los idiomas, y como advertí hace siglos, lo que vale de este lanzamiento es, sí, lo siento, EL HUEVO EL HUEVO EL HUEVO EL HUEVO..... (ad infinitum).

Una reflexión: también he dicho muchas veces que un poco de DNR no es malo, que hay películas que en su paso a dvd conservaban exceso de grano y esa no era la intención original del autor. Pero entonces ahora, ¿qué haremos o diremos? ¿aceptaremos el DNR porque viene de quien viene? ó ¿lapideremos la edición margaret astor de alien? o quizá diremos que bueno, que no se han pasado mucho y tal.

Pero no problem; dentro de un par de años (o menos) las vuelven a editar "como nunca las hemos visto, tal y como se estrenaron en el cine", lo único es que para esa siguiente ocasión espero que la edición venga en una PATA DE ALIEN (porque ya tendremos el huevo y el cabezón).

En fin, voy a ponerme el bd de Bonnie and Clyde de Warner y luego el de Grupo Salvaje, tras ver anoche el de la Noche de los muertos vivientes, que para eso sí nos ha servido la hd, gracias a Dios.

P.D.: cuando haya reviews e imágenes podremos opinar sobre éllas, pero conste que yo ahora estoy opinando sobre algo cierto y real, esto es, las palabras del director que ha dirigido la remasterización; si nos está engañando y luego se ha respetado el grano y la colorimetría que conocemos, me retracto y en vez de como chapucero, el Sr. Cameron, quedará como simple mentiroso.

Digo yo que saldran por separado tambien no? Solo me interesa la 1 y la 2...
