Before I pre-ordered this item on the 5th of October, I contacted Amazon and asked whether the set would be region free as I live in Australia. At the time, there was no region specified. I was told by an employee that this set WOULD be region free. Assuming this information was correct, I placed an order for myself and a friend.
On the 23rd of November, I was prompted to check on my order after discussing the order with friends. When I then checked the product page, it had the region listed for the Bluray disc as region A (which is incompatible with players in Australia).
I contacted Amazon immediately and asked what was going on with the region listing. I was then informed that the initial information I was given was incorrect and the disc was in fact, region A.
Thankfully I checked on this item before it had arrived and promptly cancelled my order, otherwise I would have assumed that the information I had been given was correct and that I was receiving the correct item. This is very disappointing as I had awaited the release of this item for many weeks.
I am now hesitant to order other items from Amazon, as I am wary of the reliability of the provided information.
