Se confirma una vez más lo comentado en otros hilos por el PadreK. Mucha remasterización y poca restauración. Si no mejoran ediciones defectuosas, serán carne de oferta o rebajas. Una cosa el comprar "Horizontes de grandeza" cuando el dvd tenía más manchas que un dálmata, pero esto es diferente.
Venga Fox... por favor! Un clasiquillo restaurado cada tres meses no hace daño, los cinéfagos somos fáciles y caemos como corderitos. Durante unos meses estaríamos callados. Palabrita de Niño Jesús!
PD: Menudo rango tiene la Tasa de Bits. :digno

Aunque creo que mis filmaciones caseras en Super8 tienen más detalle, pienso que hay que tener en cuenta el formato en el que se fotografió y que todo es relativo. Robert Harris, que creo que puede decir mucho sobre estos temas, la recomienda y cree que se ve como se vio en su estreno (que no es decir mucho) :

Por otra parte en AWSM explican que el crítico del New York Times Bosley Crowther había criticado duramente Veracruz por su "fuzzy photography and blobby colors":

Estaba pensando en comparar con las películas de Sergio Leone porque las fotografiaron con un área de negativo similar, aunque la comparación quizá es injusta porque se hicieron hasta 15 años después y con un sistema mejor (techniscope).
Pero claro, aquí el problema podría ser que a lo mejor no han utilizado el negativo original y puede que hayan usado una copia chunga de la época con la correspondiente degradación en la imagen. A veces no tenemos por qué conformarnos con lo que se vio en cines.

Totalmente de acuerdo con Harbert. A pesar de lo que hay, la vi en pantalla grande y la disfruté mucho.
