os apuntais??

la entrada cuesta 4€ y la sesion es la de las 18:30h

estaria bien que si pudiesemos confirmasemos los que vamos pronto y asi alguien podria pillar las entradas en el fnac... asi nos aseguramos el ir....

The greatest boon to Korean action movies was always Korea¡¯s tight gun control laws. With an Uzi in hand, any pretty boy can exterminate an army of bad guys. But it takes a certain breed of man to do the job with an aluminum baseball bat.

And unlike their Hong Kong and Hollywood counterparts, Korean action movies always have had a much darker edge. Traditionally, in a real Korean action movie the hero has to die in the final scene. (Try to find a Choi Min-su action film where he is alive when the credits roll.)

An audience leaves a Hollywood action movie energized, as if they¡¯d just seen a football game where the home team won. The audiences for traditional Korean action movies leaves the theater feeling a little heavier than when they came in - which, one could argue, is the proper effect that watching two hours of violence should have on the human spirit.

For years Korean action movies seemed content with their solid, if marginal, niche. But then along came ¡°Swiri¡± with its blazing guns and box office records. Suddenly, the traditional Korean action movie was looking about as hip as trot music.

But now along comes 27-year-old independent director Ryu Seung-wan and his debut effort ¡°Die Bad,¡± an astounding film that manages to draw inspiration from all the great Korean action movies and add something completely new to the mix.

Ryu¡¯s ¡°Die Bad¡± is not an action movie by the common definition of the term, though more than two thirds of the scenes involve young Korean men beating the tar out of each other. ¡°Die Bad¡± is about the cycle of violence that traps some men and turns them into people they don¡¯t understand.

The film opens with a scene in a pool hall. Two groups of high school boys get into a nasty fight, which is instigated by a young psycho. The fight is filmed with a style that has all the boldness and flair of ¡°Nowhere to Hide.¡±

In the course of the fight, one of the young boys, Sok-wan (Park Sung-bin) kills another. Then we jump ahead several years into the future. Sok-wan is being released from prison. He takes a job at a garage. But adjusting to life on the outside is impossible. He is haunted by nightmares and ghosts. And even more difficult, the call to violence seems to lurk at every turn.

One night when walking home he rescues a man being beat up by several thugs, but in the process once again loses himself to violence. The man he saves turns out to be a devil of sorts and mentors Sok-wan into a new life as a gangster.

Here again comes another leap into the future. The film was originally made by Ryu over a period of several years as a series of three short films about the same set of characters. Patched together they form a remarkably coherent whole. And the effect of watching the same actors as they actually age before our eyes is haunting.

The third segment focuses on Song-hyun (Ryu Sueng-bum), the younger brother of Sok-wan¡¯s former best friend Sang-hyun (Bae Jung-shik).

Song-hyun is the living embodiment of the phrase ¡°rebel without a clue.¡± He drops out of school wanting to become a gangster. He approaches Sok-wan, who is now the head of his own gang, for a job on his muscle crew. After showing some reluctance, Song-wan takes him on.

Violence seems to be the only way that Song-hyun can connect with the men in his world. Tragedy strikes in a shockingly violent (even by Hollywood standards) gang fight where Song-hyun learns what real violence is.

¡°Die Bad¡± will appear in the New Currents section of the upcoming Pusan International Film Festival (Oct. 6-14). It is a good place for the film. What better place than Pusan for the world to get its first look as this remarkable and uniquely Korean film and director.<hr></blockquote>

Ya he visto Avalon (en DVD). Es genial, con grandes batallas, momentos para la reflexión, y un argumento mucho más complicado de lo que parece.

Yo la definiría como un anime en imagen real. Totalmente recomendable.

Joder Mikel, ¿cuanto has pagado por Musa (aka the warrior)? Yo la vi bastante cara, y además me extraño que no estaba en CoolaShop.

Lo que si que he visto es Shiri en Zona 1, con una portada asquerosamente fea, peor que las dos ediciones HK, la normal mostrada aquí y la edición internacional. En USA han puesto una titi por la jeta, pero eso si, la sorpresa es que tiene subtitulos en castellano y teniendo en cuenta que son 135 Dolares de Hong knog, quizas sea mejor pagar 25 Euros con subtitulos en castellano.

Por cierto Mikel, no se si te ha dado tiempo a enterarte de que en Junio está anunciado por Manga Battle Royale en los cines. ¿curioso, no? Debe ser que leen este post ;-)

MUSA sale por 5500 en AsianDVD, gastos incluidos y te la envian en 3 dias, la edicion es increiblemente buena y el librito q trae es una pasada, lastima del koreano, pero casi todo son fotos.

VERSUS, es demasiado cara, me lo mire en cd japan y sale a mas de 7000, habra q esperar a la edicion HK q sera mas baratita.

Y por cierto, NOTICIA BOMBA, en AMC Parc Valles 24 estan dando en cine el trailer de ZU, asi q se espera un estreno inminente, y su posterior distribucion en DVD de aqui, en apañol y todo.

Mikel, este post está resultando muy pernicioso.

Cada día tengo los ojos más oblícuos y la piel más amarilla. Me vas a tener que dejar tu atuendo para colarme camuflado en el Convento, ya que tan amarillo no paso ni del refertorio. <img src=http://www.ezboard.com/intl/aenglish/images/emoticons/laugh.gif ALT=":lol">

Convendría que tuviesemos convirmación oficial de que la tendremos en España en breve antes de tirar del DVD de Play.

Esa pelicula NO es "Legend of Zu", es "Zu: warriors from the magic mountain" del 83 dirigida por el mismo Tsui Hark!

Ya dije que los americanos eran GILIPOLLAS al cambiar el titulo a Zu warriors porque habria muchos equivocos pero en fin...

El DVD que muestra Mikel es Zu Warriors original del 83

La pelí que están anunciando en USA (parece que alquien comentó que vió el trailer en algún cine de aquí también) bajo el nombre de Zu Warriors, es en realidad The Legend of ZU (de la que se comentó en su día que habían desaparecido de circulación los DVD´s en zona 3 - aunque en algún sitio los hay en VCD y DVD-)

Yo tengo SHIRI de zona 1, y tengo que decir que el koreano está en 5.1, no en surround como he leído. La imagen es muy buena, superior a la de las versiones orientales, y lleva un docu de casi una hora. 4000 pelas en dvdboxoffice.com
