Quote:
Hong Kong - Going Home
Keong is an eight-year-old raised by a single parent. His father Wai (Eric Tsang) is a plain-clothes detective preoccupied by both his work and grief over his long deceased wife. The story begins with the father and son moving into a deserted police dormitory. Yu Fai (Leon Lai), their new neighbour, is a detached character. Except when shopping for necessities, he stays indoors at all times.
Keong disappears suddenly, and out of desperation, Wai breaks into Yu Fai's apartment. Wai locates a bizarre corpse - exquisitely preserved to the extent that its skin remains elastic. It is the body of Yu Fai's wife whom Yu Fai murdered three years ago. Intrigued by Yu Fai's candor and integrity, Wai gets more and more convinced that he is dealing with an extremely passionate lunatic, and that his son Keong has already encountered the most excruciating foul play.
Thailand - The Wheel
Khon and Hun Lakorn Lek are two highly distinct traditional art forms in Thai theatre. The former is considered a low culture performance involving street dancers and actors, whereas the latter is an elaborate puppetry, sacred and highly praised, originating from the 15th century royal palace. However, a curse is put on anyone who defiles the Hun Lakorn Lek.
Kru Tong stumbles upon a casket of Hun Lakorn Lek puppets and starts making his own puppets, believing that being poor is already the greatest misfortune. Kru Tong establishes a successful puppet troupe; his finances greatly improve but his health begins to deteriorate. Against all odds, Kru Tong refuses to close down his puppet shows, fearing poverty more than the power of the curse, only because he doesn't have the slightest idea about the horrifying experience yet to come…
Korea - Memories
After his wife disappears, Sung-min suffers some sort of amnesia; he remembers neither the clothes his wife was wearing nor the reason why she left home on the day of her disappearance. However hard he may try, he can only recall fragments of mundane quarrels and nuances, along with some incomprehensible instances. Furthermore, he begins to suffer from nightmares. The truth begins to dawn on him when he witnesses a terrible car accident in his neighbourhood.
On the other hand, Sung-min's wife wakes up and finds herself lying in an empty street. Her condition is far worse than Sung-min's; she has no idea who she is or what brings her there. She finds a laundry receipt in her purse with a phone number and address on it and embarks on an interesting journey
