Tema: Dario Argento dirige Giallo

First reported by ShockTillYouDrop.com, Variety has now confirmed that Italian horror master Dario Argento will direct Giallo, an English-language homage to the genre that made him a cult helmer, with Vincent Gallo, and Argento's daughter Asia Argento attached to star.

Ray Liotta is also in advanced negotiations to join the Giallo cast.

Argento's latest thriller will revolve around serial slashings of some very attractive women being investigated by a solitary cop, which Liotta is likely to play, who engages in a cat-and-mouse game with the phsychopathic perpetrator, to be played by Gallo.

The screenplay is by scribes Jim Agnew and Sean Keller. Shooting starts in February in Turin.

She has stood up against serpents flying at her face and mad doctors, now actress Elsa Pataky will co-star as a kidnapped model in Dario Argento's thriller Giallo.

The IMDB was the first to list her in the film, since then we've been able to confirm her involvement with sources close to the production. Pataky's credits include New Line's Snakes on a Plane and Brian Yuzna's Beyond Re-Animator. She'll join Ray Liotta, Vincent Gallo and Asia Argento.

Written by Sean Keller and Jim Agnew, the story concerns an American Stewardess and an Italian detective who team up to find her sister, Celine. Turns out, Celine has been abducted by a maniacal serial killer, known only as "Yellow," who has been disfiguring and murdering beautiful women on the streets of Milan.

Shooting is expected to begin next month.

Adrien Brody, Emmanuelle Seigner have signed on to star in Giallo, the latest thriller from Italian horrormeister Dario Argento, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The film revolves around an American flight attendant who teams with an Italian investigator to search for her missing sister who has been abducted by a serial killer known only as Yellow.

The term "giallo" means "yellow" in Italian and also refers to the Italian pulp, horror and erotic genre of film and literature.

The film, from a screenplay by Jim Agnew and Sean Keller, will be produced by Rafael Primorac and Richard Rionda Del Castro.

Production is set to start May 12 in Torino, Italy, with post-production work done in Los Angeles.

Ya la he visto, la verdad que es una película para pasar el rato, pero poquito más...

La Pataky (que tampoco sale tanto) se pasa la película gritando y casi no dice palabra,
Adrian Brody sale bastante más, y en general, los actores están correctos, aunque los diálogos no dan para sobresalir desde luego. (son tan obvios y planos que casi no me han hecho falta los subtítulos)

Tiene bastante pinta de mala, aire a telefilme, algunos puntos de humor, pero bueno... en general la he seguido bien, dada su corta duración no se me hizo pesada, incluso al final pasé algo de intriga, de hecho el final ha sido lo que más me ha gustado porque te deja mal cuerpo.

Yo la veré en breve, pero me han comentado que de homenaje al Giallo poco.

No obstante, Argento últimamente ha realizado cosas que aunque no llegan a su cima artística (que de eso hace muchos años ya) sí que son entrañables como "Insomnio", que eso sí que es una auto-felación en toda regla.

Os recuerdo a todos que debéis avisar de los spoilers sobre tramas o personajes en películas, que no cuesta nada poner un aviso bien grande antes del mismo o incluso utilizar la herramienta para ocultarlo.

No está mal saber quien es el malo, al menos así nos enteramos de algo porque con las pelis de Argento lo difícil es enterarse de algo!

Hombre,bajo mi humilde opinión,mientras que Argento está cayendo en picado,el bueno de Romero por lo menos mantiene su línea,sigo pensando que Survival of the dead está infravaloradísima,al igual que la genial Diary of the dead. Volviendo al tema Giallo,que es de lo que trata el post,parece mentira que un director de su experiencia pueda dirigir una bazofia tan grande,para rodar esto mejor que se tome unos añitos sabáticos,está echando de por tierra su reputación de maestro que para mi sigue teniendo.
