Cosas interesantes de las ruedas de prensa:
John Williams llama a Spielberg "babe" desde 1975. Babe esto, babe lo otro.. Spielberg le llama Johnny. ¿Y por qué no desde 1974? Porque entonces su relación era estrictamente profesional y no se habían hecho amigos todavía.
El score se ha grabado con la Filarmónica de los Angeles, con el propio John Williams a la batuta (#). Dice Spielberg que a su juicio la orquesta intepreta mejor para Williams que para ningun otro director de orquesta en activo, salvo tal vez (¡tal vez!), Gustavo Dudamel.
(#) A excepción del prólogo de la película. La música de la escena inicial de la película (espectacular secuencia, según se comenta) fue dirigida por el propio Dudamel, fundamentalmente porque llamó a Williams por telefono y le pidió dirigir algo (porfa, que me hace ilusión). Esto también sucedió en El Despertar de la Fuerza en 2015.
Emily Blunt está como una niña pequeña el día de Navidad porque un personaje suyo tiene un tema propio compuesto por John Williams, algo que jamás penso que sucedería.
Sobre la película en si, Spielberg dice que con esta obra ha tratado de combinar la emotividad y tristeza de Inteligencia Artificial, con la tensión y el subtexto de Minority Report y La Guerra de los Mundos, con el ritmo trepidante y la acción de Raiders of the Lost Ark, y el sense of wonder y la escala de Encuentros en la Tercera Fase. Ahí es nada. La gente juzgará si lo ha conseguido o no, pero eso es lo que ha intentado con este film.

No creo, no estamos ante un caso Twisters en el que se priorizo el soundtrack antes que el score.
Esto va más en la linea de scores, al menos, de Back Lot de que se editan cuando se estrena la película.

Yo me lo creo, viendo como ningún trailer o clip hasta la fecha ha tenido musica de Williams, tal vez Spielberg quiera que el primer contacto que tengamos con la música de Williams sea viendo la película en si, y por eso se va a editar una semana después del estreno. O eso, o que los nombres de las pistas del album revelan detalles de la trama.

Es interesante que Spielberg diga que esta película se puede considerar compañera de Encuentros en la tercera fase y ET, pero no de War of The Worlds porque esta última fue su respuesta personal a la tragedia del 11-S y va aparte.
También comenta que en Encuentros en la Tercera Fase y en ET la música es operística y guía la película en primer plano, mientras que en el caso de Disclosure Day está muy presente pero más a nivel de descripción psicologica y emocional de los personajes, y de reflejo musical de la tensión y el suspense.

Encuentros en la tercera fase se proyectó este pasado fin de semana en el Palm Springs Fest en 70mm junto a Disclosure Day en una sesión doble.
Un tipo que asistió califica Disclosure Day como espectacular y tan buena como encuentros en la tercera fase. Dice que es una secuela espiritual que explora los mismos temas, y recomienda revisionar Encuentros antes de ir a ver Disclosure Day . El score de Williams para Disclosure Day le pareció impresionante.

Bruce, la verdad es que no me había parado a pensarlo detenidamente, pero ahora que Spielberg lo dice... la secuencia de la guerra de los mundos donde Tom Cruise corre muerto de miedo mientras los aliens literalmente desintegran a la gente a su alrededor, si que es verdad que trae a la cabeza las imagenes de archivo del 11-S (esa ceniza).

The most he’s ever felt like Shyamalan which I guess finally completes that circle.

Spielberg: There’s one huge difference between the music of Disclosure Day and Close Encounters -well there’s a lot of differences. The Close Encounters score is almost operatic, it leads the film… it’s out in front of the movie. But I wanted John’s music for Disclosure Day to be behind the film, to be underneath the film… To lift the movie, but not too far, just to be able to guide it, lift it, but not ever get in front of it.”

Yo es que lo compro desde el primer momento, Williams abogando por una partitura alejada de los minimos esperables por el habitual sector que oye su nombre y empiezan a temblar por score que no va a cumplir sus expectativas estilisticas.
Lo compro, un Williams que se apremia a la texturalidad thrilleriana y de los 70s con Fury, Jaws y Close Encounters, lo compro.
PD: ¿He comentado que considero Munich, score y pelicula, una JOYAZA?
