What makes Megalopolis so strange and, for a big-budget Hollywood film, so singular, is that, just like Vergil’s Aeneid, it is at once accretive, allusive, and idiosyncratic because Coppola is attempting something very few artists have ever done: to speak from inside the imperial organism, even as it begins to crack, and to craft a vision that is both a monument to its grandeur and a requiem for its decline.
Que el problema no esta en el recurso. La electronica puede usarse maravillosamente, y lo que Reznor (y Ross), hacen por ejemplo para las ultimas pelis de Fincher son obras de arte, así lo digo. En los últimos años, el mejor y mas elegante uso de la electronica que yo haya escuchado (aunque combinado con orquesta, al menos ligeramente), esta en Tron Legacy de Daft Punk.
Junkie XL es un pachanguero. Su trabajo para Mad Max funciona como un misil con las imágenes, pero musicalmente es mas burdo que el Ecce Homo.
