Es de suponer que Columbia mantendrá los materiales y diseños del año pasado (Edición Coleccionista y Extendida) pero no se puede asegurar al 100%, así que quizás tengas que esperar al mismo día que salga en España y comprobarlo con tus propios ojos porque el año pasado anduvimos igual <img src=https://www.mundodvd.com/forum/emoticons/smash.gif ALT=":martillo">

La caja seguramente será como la del año pasado, pero hasta que no salga no se puede asegurar nada. La del año pasado, a mí modo de ver, era imitación de cuero... una mala imitación (pero muy wapa <img src=https://www.mundodvd.com/forum/emoticons/wink3.gif ALT=":))"> ), pero imitación al fin y a cabo.
De todas maneras, me parece raro que alguien tenga como principal elemento de decisión de compra entre las dos ediciones este elemento. Es importante, pero bajo mi punto de vista no es tan importante como el hecho de que te 'regalen' la figura, el libro de Gollum y su DVD.

Bueno , allá cada cual. Estaría bien que no se discutiera sobre el tema de 'imitación cuero sí vs. imitación cuero no' que, si en un primer momento el año pasado pudo resultar hasta gracioso, terminó siendo un tema un poco pesado de discusión y que nos terminó por cansar a varios.
Demos a este tema la importancia que tiene (ojo, que no se la estoy quitando), pero no nos pasemos. Lo que realmente importa es la calidad en la que viene editada esta maravillosa película, que no se nos olvide. Lo digo por que al final se habla de todo menos de lo que realmente deberiamos hablar.

Rezo para que no la lien.

Todos hablan del dvd de Gollum y del libro, pero yo he leido por ahí que el libro será de gollum, pero que el dvd será sobre la creación de los objetos de la pelicula.
Alguien puede aclarar eso?

En The Digital Bits ya han visto los dvds de la version extendida, y esto es lo q dicen de ella (Ojo, contiene muchos <span style="color:red;">SPOILERS</span> de las escenas añadidas):

<hr />Yes... it's true. Matt and I yesterday attended an all-day, marathon screening of New Line's forthcoming The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers - Special Extended DVD Edition, which streets on November 18th. And let me tell you... you're going to be blown away.

This extended edition includes more than 43 minutes of new scenes and footage, added by director Peter Jackson just for this DVD release. As with the Fellowship extended cut, these new moments add tremendous depth and development to certain characters, give a greater sense of epic scope to the journey, provide wonderful new moments of humor and greatly enhance the intensity of the major battle scenes. Here's a detailed rundown of the new footage you can expect to see on this DVD:

1) A new opening scene, after Gandalf's fall in Moria, in which we see Sam and Frodo climbing down a rocky crevasse using the Elven rope (the title The Two Towers now appears at the start of this scene).

2) Sam and Frodo getting rained on in the mountains as Gollum watches from a cliff above them.

3) Gollum's good and bad selves fighting over whether or not to lead Sam and Frodo to Mordor.

4) The Orcs arguing about their orders, and Pippen asking them to give a wounded Merry some water.

5) More of Saruman the White overseeing the construction of his Orc army, including his ordering the destruction of Fangorn Forest to fuel his furnaces, as well as the Wildmen pledging allegiance to him.

6) More of the villages of Rohan being plundered by the Wildmen.

7) Éomer finding a mortally-wounded Théodred at the scene of a great battle with Saruman's Orcs.

8) More of Gríma Wormtongue banishing Éomer from Rohan.

9) More of the Orcs fighting over whether or not to eat Merry and Pippin, including the realization that they believe the two Hobbits are carrying the Ring.

10) Gollum complaining of his hunger in the Dead Marshes, eating a worm and playing on Frodo's knowledge of the Ring.

11) Leoglas talking about the trees in Fangorn Forest, and how Elves first raised them into intelligent creatures long ago.

12) More of Gandalf the White's return in Fangorn, in which he talks about what's happening in Edoras and how, because of Merry and Pippin's arrival in the forest, the Ents are going to wake up and fight.

13) Treebeard reciting Ent poetry to Merry and Pippin, which puts them to sleep.

14) Gandalf telling Aragorn about events to come on the way to Edoras: "Sauron fears what you may become." Gandalf says Sauron doesn't suspect that the plan is to destroy The Ring rather than use it.

15) Merry and Pippin drinking a potion in Fangorn that causes them to grow, then getting trapped in the roots of a tree until Treebeard saves them.

16) Treebeard telling Merry and Pippin why there are so few Ents left.

17) Wormtongue spitting on Aragorn's outstretched hand before he escapes after being spared in Edoras.

18) Théodred's funeral at Edoras, with Éowyn singing in tribute of her cousin.

19) Aragorn calming a horse named Brego in the stables of Edoras with Elvish talk, as Éowyn watches.

20) Saruman grumbling about Gandalf's reappearance, then learning of Aragorn's existence from Wormtongue.

21) King Théoden promising that they'll return to Edoras before leading his people to Helm's Deep.

22) More of Faramir capturing Frodo and Sam.

23) Aragorn and Théoden talking about Éowyn on the road to Helm's Deep.

24) Aragorn and Éowyn talking about his great age over a bowl of bad stew.

25) Extended flashback moments of Aragorn and Arwen together in Rivendale.

26) More intense footage of the battle with the Warg Riders.

27) Éowyn checking on the meager food stores upon arrival at Helm's Deep.

28) More of Faramir telling Sam and Frodo of Boromir's death, and of finding the Horn of Gondor broken.

29) A major new flashback scene in which we see Boromir and Faramir after reclaiming Osgiliath for Gondor. We learn that their father, Denethor, disapproves of Faramir. Denethor tells Boromir about the meeting that's been called by Elrond in Rivendale - the Ring has been found. Denethor sends Boromir to the meeting, and orders him to bring the Ring back to Gondor to save their people.

30) Faramir's men beating Gollum before questioning.

31) Aragorn and Éowyn talking before the battle of Helm's Deep. Éowyn says she wants to fight at his side, and basically admits that she loves him.

32) More of the Ent council in the woods - it's already night, but the Ents have only just finished saying "Good morning" to each other.

33) <span style="text-decoration:underline">Much more intense footage during the battle at Helm's Deep.</span>

34) <span style="text-decoration:underline">The trees of Fangorn Forest marching to Helm's Deep, to get revenge on the Orcs.</span>

35) <span style="text-decoration:underline">The Orcs fleeing Helm's Deep, only to be swallowed up by the trees which have blocked their escape.</span>

36) <span style="text-decoration:underline">A very funny moment between Legolas and Gimli in which they brag to each other about the number of Orcs they've each killed in the battle.</span>

37) Merry and Pippin discovering a pantry filled with food after the battle at Isengard.

38) And finally, Faramir leading Frodo and Sam out of Osgiliath. Sam tells Faramir that he's finally shown his quality - the very best. Faramir threatens Gollum as to what will happen if the Hobbits come to harm. As they depart for Mordor, Sam is kind to Gollum for the first time, telling him that Frodo only meant to save him by letting Faramir's men take him prisoner.

So that's a rundown of all the new footage. As far as the bonus discs, we only stayed to watch Disc Three. But what we saw included incredibly in-depth documentaries on J.R.R. Tolkien's development of the story of The Two Towers, in the context of The Lord of the Rings as a whole, how the filmmakers struggled to adapt this second book and the changes they had to make in order for the story to work on-screen, and the incredible efforts of actor Andy Serkis, the team of special effects artists at Weta Digital and the writers to bring the character of Gollum to life. You might think you know how much work was involved in creating the first digital character to give a realistic dramatic performance on film, but it was even tougher than you can imagine.

Matt and I really had a blast watching this new cut of the film and some of the extra features on the upcoming DVD release. Believe me when I say that this 4-disc set promises to be another absolute home-run for Rings fans. It's definitely one of the must-have DVD releases of 2003, along with Indiana Jones and the upcoming Alien Quadrilogy. Watch for our in-depth review of Two Towers in the next couple of weeks.<hr />

Acabo de pedir el juego de tres monedas de "Battle for the Ring".









Las dos últimas son dibujos provisionales, pero la primera es la foto real.
Al principio sólo iba a pedir la primera (que se vende suelta por 29,95 NZ$), pero al darme cuenta de que los precios de la página están en dólares Neozelandeses (cuando yo creía que eran yankees, que están a casi el doble), me hizo decidirme a pillar el juego de las tres.
Con gastos de envío por avión, por poco más de 33€

Son tres documentales de una hora de duración cada uno, que tratan sobre los libros (nada que ver con la película). Sobre un mapa virtual de la Tierra Media siguen el recorrido del libro, y en cada sitio importante se detienen y hablan un poco sobre el tema: entrevistas a eruditos de la obra (el biográfo, profesores de Universidad, los hijos de Tolkien (no está Christopher, son los otros hijos). En cada punto hablan sobre las posibles motivaciones que llevaron a Tolkien a escribir ese pasaje. También se muestran los paisajes que lo inspiraron, curiosidades, en fin, las cosas típicas de un documental.
Tanto los menús como los diseños que aparecen en el documental han sido creados por los hermanos Hildebrandt (los conocerás si conoces la obra de Tolkien). Entre los extras hay una breve biografía de Tolkien, galería de dibujos de los hermanos Hildebrandt, y un video musical del grupo celta que pone la música al documental.

Si eres fan de la obra de Tolkien los documentales son muy interesantes (aunque algo aburridos ya que casi todo son entrevistas a eruditos), pero ten en cuenta que no viene ningún subítulo, aunque por suerte los ingleses pronuncian bastante mejor que los americanos....

En www.play.com los tienes por unos 15 euros cada DVD, aunque es posible que salgan en un pack juntos....

Perdonad este semi-offtopic, pero de verdad entendéis más a los ingleses que a los americanos? No se si es porque veo más pelis americanas que inglesas pero cada vez que veo un dvd americano los veo a pelo, para films ingleses necesito subtítulos. Para mi los americanos hablan más natural y abierto, sin forzarlo tanto.
