Cualquiera que haya oído y disfrutado las bso de Cómo entrenar a tu dragón ya sabe que era buena idea.
Si, Powell es muy bueno, especialmente en animación... cuando le dan libertad. Pero en varias ocasiones, más de las que me gustaría, vuelve al peor sonido made in Zimmer, "cantera" de la que salió. Afortunadamente, tiene ya su estilo propio sólidamente formado, y técnicamente hablando es mejor que todos los del al compañía, Djawadi, Jablonsky y el mismo Zimmer. Su manejo de las posibilidades de la orquesta, es fresco y dinámico.

Para mí lo de Powell no es plagio... lo integra muy bien con su estilo y composición propia, además de que no fusila nota por nota, es más la estructura general. Es homenaje, cómo tú dices. Plagio para mí es lo de Zimmer en Gladiator (hubo demanda incluso, creo), que encima me enfada soberanamente porque tiene ese aire sintético-modernillo que suena cutre por todos lados.
Aunque el caso mas escandaloso de la historia de la música de cine creo yo que sigue siendo el de Tyler Bates en 300 copia pegando temas enteros del Titus de Elliot Goldenthal, sin prácticamente cambiar una coma.
