Parece que Cronenberg tiene nuevo proyecto junto a Vincent Cassel, The Shrouds (Los sudarios) y que se venderá en Cannes (donde presenta Crimes of the future)

Lea Seydoux se une a Vincent Cassel en el reparto, reparto frances, aunque matiza Cronenberg que no sera una peli francesa, sino que es un proyecto bastante personal y que tiene previsto rodarla en primavera en Toronto
Trama... Cassel interpretará a un hombre de negocios que construye un dispositivo para conectarse con los muertos dentro de un sudario funerario

Metraje de 119 minutos el film más largo de la filmografía de Cronenberg. Se indica que, al igual que en Crímenes del futuro, Douglas Koch, Christopher Donaldson y Howard Shore se encargar de la fotografía, montaje y música de la película

Por otro lado, se puede ver como una muestra del carácter parcialmente autobiográfico de la película que la apariencia del personaje de Cassel recuerde a la de Cronenberg.
