Ultimamente leo mucho que este film está sobrevalorado. Yo creo que no. Creo que sigue estando a una distancia sideral de todo lo que vino después. Es magnífica.

Con motivo del 40º Aniversario de La Cosa,, este pasado Junio, la reestrenaron en cines en Estados Unidos. Uno de los cines donde se exhibió, fue Universal Cinema AMC, en California. Quiso el destino que, al primer pase, asistiese el propio Carpenter.
Le encanta hacer eso, ir al cine como uno más. El caso es que ni Dios se hubiese enterado, y todo hubiese quedado ahí, si no fuese porque... mostraron la película en 1:85.1 y en una calidad espantosa.A Carpenter casi le da algo, se levantó y se fue, y la que se lió posteriormente fue monumental, con la gente en redes sociales y el propio Carpenter poniendo finos a ese cine... qué acabó disculpandose publicamente y corrigiendo el error en los próximos pases.
