Ojo cuidao, que de esta frase también se puede inferir que solo hay humor y chascarrillos en Avengers -¡sé que no has querido decir eso!-, puesto que es con lo que suele quedarse la mayoría de la gente que ve la peli, y en esa cinta hay mucho más que eso.

Pues sí, interpretaste bien. No me refería a que Avengers era sólo chistes, claro que no. Sabes que me encanta esa película, y no sólo por el humor.

Según esto Justice League podría irse a 300 millones de presupuesto. Tiene sentido (presupuesto habitual + todo lo del verano). Luego Warner, dentro del tema estratégico, puede soltar que ha sido menos. Si es que esos 300 son ciertos, claro.

In the past 18 months it has sustained a switch in directors and creative tinkering before and after production to lighten the tone. Significant reshoots brought an already big budget up to nearly $300 million, said people close to the picture.

DC is a financial pillar for Warner Bros., CEO Kevin Tsujihara has said, in every area of its business from movies to television to consumer products and videogames. Catching up to rival Marvel Entertainment’s big-screen success is crucial.

Mr. Tsujihara also made clear he wanted “Justice League” to be under two hours, said a person close to the movie. “Batman v Superman,” by contrast, ran 151 minutes.

Production ran from March through October of 2016. When director Zack Snyder delivered his cut early this year, studio executives felt he had made progress with the lighter elements but that more work was needed.

Joss Whedon, the “Buffy the Vampire Slayer” creator and writer/director of two “Avengers” movies for Marvel, already was working with Warner on a movie about DC heroine Batgirl and was given the “Justice League” rewrite. When Mr. Snyder’s daughter died, Mr. Whedon oversaw several weeks of reshoots, with his predecessor’s endorsement, said Mr. Emmerich.

Aficionados likely will be able to pick out the clever, dialogue-heavy scenes shot by Mr. Whedon and the more stylish action scenes shot by Mr. Snyder, but the creative team has endeavored to meld the two. “A lot of the work was integrating the two tones and making it feel like one movie,” said a person close to the post-production process.

Early cuts didn’t achieve that goal, but a test screening of the final version recently earned audience scores close to those of “Wonder Woman,” said people who have seen the data. Pre-release surveys indicate it should open to more than $100 million.

Messrs. Berg and Johns are developing what Mr. Emmerich described as a “super robust slate” of other DC movies, including Mr. Whedon’s “Batgirl,” a solo Batman picture, the interstellar Green Lantern Corps, and two different takes on the Joker.

Pero yo entiendo que esa duración ya estaba prevista desde el principio, no? Poco habrán desechado entonces.

Lo de que la película iba a durar trescientas horas y la visión de Snyder blablabla, es un hecho sin confirmar, es más, hay unas declaraciones de Jeremy Irons de hace muchos meses que dejaba entrever que la película iba a ser más ligera y más directa.

Ya lo sé, pero es que no hacen más que poner hincapié en eso cuando dice que ya habían progresado en ese aspecto, pero que aún querían más. Sigo repitiendo que si el modelo a seguir es Wonder Woman como tanto repiten, a los que nos gusta los riesgos tomados en BvS vamos a salir decepcionados ya que van a optar por una película más familiar.

Qué mal rollo me da esa frase: luz, alegría, humor..., más luz!

Creo que estamos exagerando la nota. No he querido ver el último tráiler, pero por lo que vi en los anteriores no me pareció que hubiera demasiada alteración en los aspectos visuales de MoS y BvS. Esta última era especialmente oscura por el argumento y los temas que trataba, sí, pero precisamente por eso desde el principio dijeron que JL era la salida del túnel hacia la luz. Ahí están las palabras de Terrio antes del estreno de BvS. Aún así, a mí me parece que sigue predominando un mundo oscuro en que los héroes representan la luz de la esperanza, ese es el planteamiento desde MoS. No he visto ningún giro dramático en ese aspecto, ni mucho menos.

Tampoco veo en el artículo que ha citado Synch (que en cualquier caso no dejan de ser rumores) ninguna indicación de que haya habido tijeretazo en montaje o que vaya a haber un montaje ultimate. De hecho, lo que yo entiendo en el artículo es que la petición de que la película no superara las dos horas es anterior a la realización de la misma.

Claudio Serrano, el que pone la voz a Batman, dice en su twitter que JL será un peliculón. Supongo que eso tiene mucho de entusiasmo corporativo pero vaya, acabo de verlo.

Sigo viendo raro esto de que se cambie de Batman y aquí le ponga la voz el mismo tipo. En ese mismo vídeo dice que este fin de semana acude a una Comic Con para hablar de Doctor Who (debe doblar al Doctor, imagino). Joder, es aún más raro que lo de Batman

While some fans were surprised (and even upset) when it was revealed that the runtime for Justice League would be 1 hour and 59 minutes, it appears hitting that number was no accident. In a new report in the Wall Street Journal highlighting the difficult production of Justice League, it’s revealed that Warner Bros. CEO Kevin Tsujihara made clear that he wanted the superhero movie to come in under two hours. The “mandate” of sorts came in the wake of the bloated 151-minute runtime of Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice—which also has an “Ultimate Edition” that runs a full 30 minutes longer.

The filming of Justice League was a unique process. When Geoff Johns and Jon Berg were hired to oversee the DC movie slate and give it a more optimistic tone, their first job was to get with Zack Snyder and screenwriter Chris Terrio to rework Justice League and make it a more hopeful movie. Per WSJ, when Snyder delivered his cut earlier this year, studio executives “felt he had made progress with the lighter elements,” but also felt the movie could use more work. That’s when Joss Whedon was brought in to write scenes for the reshoots, and when Snyder left after his daughter’s death, Whedon directed and oversaw what WSJ describes as “significant” reshoots that brought the budget up to $300 million.

So did it work? The report notes that a lot of the post-production work was spent melding the tones of Whedon and Snyder’s work into one seamless movie, and while early cuts failed to achieve the right combination, audiences scores of later cuts reportedly hewed close to how Wonder Woman scored.

What’s unclear is what happens to the extra footage. No doubt the film that Snyder initially shot and the film we see in theaters will be different enough, but unlike with Batman v Superman where Snyder oversaw everything and could thus oversee an edit of an extended cut, there’s not really a director involved with Justice League at the moment. Whedon oversaw post-production, but he has no director credit on the final film, and Snyder is no longer involved with the movie.

While Warner Bros. could likely make an extra buck or two by releasing an “extended edition” of Justice League on home video, it’s unclear how that might work. Simply adding in more of Snyder’s stuff likely won’t make a ton of sense given the reshoots, not to mention the visual tinkering that would need to be done to fit the visual tone of the finished film. All of that costs money, and Justice League is expensive enough. So I wouldn’t hold my breath for an extended edition of this movie on home video—at least probably not one overseen by Snyder or Whedon.

But Warner Bros., at least according to this WSJ profile, sounds pretty happy with the finished product all things considered. Ezra Miller’s Flash is said to be who Warner Bros. views as the breakout of the film, and a solo Flash movie is a priority. Moreover, with only Aquaman and Wonder Woman 2 on the release schedule at the moment, Warner Bros. president Toby Emmerich says he wants DC “to worry less about a comprehensive strategy than about making great films,” so the focus at the moment is on developing new superhero films with interesting directors rather than announcing a slate of cinematic universe superhero movies that fit together like puzzle pieces.

A lot is riding on Justice League, that much we know for sure, so it’ll be interesting to see how the film is received by audiences and critics when it hits theaters on November 17th.

Por aquel entonces es casi imposible que tuvieran listo un corte final y cuadra más con que este se cerrase entre septiembre y octubre. No obstante sabemos que Whedon estuvo, según se deduce de las palabras de Elfman, en la grabación de la BSO (mediados de septiembre en Londres, según se deduce de las palabras de Elfman).

Y sabemos que en la edición es donde se da forma final a la película. Siempre hay que recordar al maestro Billy Wilder:

I have ten commandments. The first nine are, thou shalt not bore. The tenth is, thou shalt have right of final cut.

Edición final a cargo de DC? Y quien supervisa? Dudo que den autonomía a los editores (recordemos que hace sólo unas semanas se agregó un tercer editor). Deberíamos mirar, pues, la lista de producer y executive producer de la película.
