Oscars 2020 Little Women

“Little Women has a little man problem,” warned Vanity Fair, citing early screenings that were almost entirely filled with women.

"The numbers back up that narrative. So far, men have reportedly made up only about one-third of Little Women’s theatrical audience."

"The history of Little Women is in many ways the history of women’s stories being shut out of the canon."

"Little Women’s drop-off corresponds to the invention of gendered children’s literature. In the early 19th century, all children were given the same kinds of books, mostly moral books about the importance of obeying one’s elders. But in the late 19th century, publishers began to put out adventure books for boys, often featuring disobedient youths."

Me ha encantado. Una delicia de película, con una gran dirección de actores. Todo resulta muy fresco y auténtico, la química actoral es contagiosa, y los personajes traspasan la pantalla. El trabajo visual también es muy reseñable.
El mensaje feminista no es machacón ni estereotipado, surge de la propia historia y cada personaje vive su feminidad a su manera.

Por poner algún pero, creo que la narración no lineal no ayuda, sino que estorba un poco. Creo que Gerwin ha querido diferenciar algo su versión, pero sinceramente no hacía falta. No estropea la película pero la podría haber hecho más disfrutable con una narración lineal clara.

En cualquier caso, una de mis favoritas de los Oscars de este año.

Yo también la vi la vi, la semana pasada, pero en castellano No había pases en V.O.

Corroboro lo que apunta mi predecesor. Saoirse nació para ser Jo y la película resulta muy aleccionadora, de espíritu radiante juvenil. Chalamet resulta un Laurie menos tieso que el de Bale por comparación y también se me antoja brillante.

Poco más me extenderé sin haberla visto en V.O. Sólo que los viejor rockeros (clásicos literarios) no deberían morir jamás en manos adecuadas y competentes.
