We suspect that's largely because IW has created a special experience and rewards system for the online game that exists on every platform. Players will start out as level 0 rookies, and will be able to earn combat XP all the way to up to level 55 Commander status. One 55 is hit, you'll be given the option to try out Prestige Mode which essentially lets you start ranking up all over again from zero. All weapons and challenges are re-locked, but players will get a special star icon next to their lobby presence which denotes they are pretty hardcore. Prestige Mode can be run a total of 10 times too, which means that if you spot players with 10 stars around their insignias, you should probably run for your lives.
