Robert Redford y Jane Fonda, una de las parejas más icónicas del séptimo arte, volverán a trabajar juntos en "Our Souls at Night", drama dirigido por Ritesh Batra, basándose en la novela homónimade Kent Haruf y adaptada para el cine por Scott Neustadter ((500) días juntos) y Michael H. Weber ("Bajo la misma estrella").

El reparto lo completan Bruce Dern, Judy Greer, Matthias Schoenaerts e Iain Armitage, y la historia comienza con una visita inesperada de Addie Moore (Jane Fonda) a su vecino, Louis Waters (Robert Redford), dos personas cuyas respectivas parejas fallecieron años atrás pero que nunca tuvieron demasiado contacto entre ellas a pesar de vivir en un pequeño pueblo.

La cinta estará producida por Netflix y su estreno está previsto para 2017.

Jane Fonda and Robert Redford are reuniting for this drama based on the final novel by Colorado writer Kent Haruf.

The American icons, who also toplined 1979's The Electric Horseman, star as widowed neighbors who begin sleeping together — as in, getting some shut-eye in the same bed. Though nonsexual, the relationship becomes the talk of their small town.

In one scene, the characters check into a Denver hotel. "I nudged [Redford] with my elbow," Fonda says, "and I said, 'Duh, Barefoot in the Park, Bob!' I felt so girlish, and I realized I was nudging him to be less serious, just like I do in that film. And just like I do with him in real life."
