I called Pioneer on exactly this issue last week and I can confirm that they are taking no more orders for this amplifier as they already have a long waiting list which will fulfil the orders to end of life.

The reason I called is I ordered early March with Superfi and my order was 16 in the queue after calling last week I had reached 15 at this rate it was going to be almost 2 years till I saw the AMP.

Pioneer said to me that some customers who had ordered in January had still not seen there Amps as yet and it would be a while longer until I got mine.

I am now contemplating cancelling my order when the next model gets announced and pre ordering that.

Any insiders have knowledge on the product roadmap? Is there a successor to the SC-LX81?

had an email today of pioneer and this is what thay have said, Obviously the SC-LX81 will eventually be replaced, but following the normal time frames this won't be until Sept/Oct at a guess. We are making an effort to fulfill outstanding orders but at this point we are waiting on Japan to confirm how many we will receive before we can work out what the cut off point for pre orders will be. picking mine up saturday
