Prisioneros de Ghostland (Sion Sono, Prisoners of the Ghostland, 2021)
"Prisoners of the Ghostland" será la primera película en inglés del director japonés Sion Sono (Suicide Club (El club del suicidio)), y será un thriller de terror y acción que contara con el protagonismo de Nicolas Cage, Sofia Boutella, Imogen Poots, Ed Skrein, Nick Cassavetes, Bill Moseley, Teresa Ruiz, Tak Sakaguchi y Young Daisy.
Contara la historia de un criminal conocido como Hero (Cage), que es enviado a rescatar a una joven secuestrada (Poots) que ha desaparecido en un oscuro universo sobrenatural. Allí deberá romper la maldición que los une y escapar de los misteriosos vengadores que gobiernan este universo, llamado Ghostland.
Hero vestirá un mono de cuero negro ceñido con granadas adheridas a diferentes partes del cuerpo, y si no rescata a la hija del gobernador de esta línea estatal donde están todos los fantasmas y la trae de vuelta, le harán explotar.

A Contracorriente anuncia que en otoño de 2021 estrenará en los cines españoles la película "Prisoners of the Ghostland" dirigida por Sion Sono y que tiene como protagonistas a Nicolas Cage y Sofia Boutella.

El trailer me llama la atención, pero no es el tipo de peli que me atrevería a comprar a ciegas.

En una entrevista, el actor Nicolas Cage ha declarado esto:
“¡Estoy muy entusiasmado! No se parece a ningún guion que haya leído. Puede ser que sea la película más loca que hice en mi vida, y eso es decir bastante. Es un delirio. Muy loca”.
