Essentially it is one of the best images available.I think that it had better blacks than the Qualia and this was evidenced as fades occurred and fom the color of the screen in the picture mute mode, relative the the Qualia. It provided a slightly less engaging image than the Qualia, probably due to lower overall light output.

The look of the Ruby images was incredibly simliar to the Qualia in color, smoothness, and overall look as it was also to the 4k digital cimema PJ in the adjacent room using SXRD also.

They all three had a very different look to the TI three chip 1080x1920 prototype which I rated best in show. It had better apparent blacks, way more light more saturated, denser looking colors and what looked like more color range along with an intangible look that made the DLP look more 3D and pleasing to me.

If I had about 10K to spend on a PJ, nothing right now could touch the Ruby however.
