Este post está sacado de la web oficial de SONY, para los que no dominen la lengua de shakespeare, un usuario explica como una chica del SAT de SONY le dice que el problema de los lectores viene provocado por la última actualización del firmware y que una vez el lector deja de leer no hay nada que el usuario pueda hacer para solucionarlo (salvo mandar la consola a SONY , of course).

"Called up sony today to inquire about the problem. I asked the lady if sony had an official statement about this problem. She said not yet. I asked her if she knew why this was happening and she told me that its a firmware problem and happens after you load the firmware it can get corrupted. She said to ensure that this never happens is to reset the PS3 settings immediately after you load the firmware (not a restore, just the settings).

This is obviously just the tech lady on the phone but she was well aware of the problem and was certain this was a way to avoid it from happening, she said that there is nothing that we can do as users to recover from the disc reading problem."
