‘Game Of Thrones’ Star Joins Jessica Chastain In Xavier Dolan Celebrity Satire

EXCLUSIVE: Quebecois wunderkind Xavier Dolan has cast Game of Thrones’ Kit Harington opposite Jessica Chastain in his Hollywood-set English language debut, The Death and Life of John F. Donovan, which writer-director Dolan is prepping for an international spring shoot. Harington will play the titular American movie star, whose correspondence with an 11-year-old actor living with his mother in England is exposed, prompting ill-founded assumptions that begin to destroy his life and career.

Me gusta que le vaya a sacar esa "parte" que dice que no hemos visto. Estoy seguro que Chastain estará a la altura, poca gente podrá dudarlo ya.

En cuanto a la temática de la película, me llama muchísimo la atención. Imagino que en Hollywood, cuando salga, también dará mucho que hablar pues es un tema bastante candente: "Well it is a sort of reflection on Hollywood's impact in the modern artist's life, the actor's life, the people from the industry. It's a sort of take on how it affects privacy"

“Susan Sarandon’s role of the mother is tricky for me because it feels very real,” explains Dolan. “The rapport my mom has with my life [since my profile has risen] -- and of course I’m not as famous as the character of Donovan -- is different now. I think all people can relate to this because whenever you walk out of the path that’s been traced for you, people from your old life find it a little menacing, because it questions their own worth.

In describing Bates’ role, Dolan says the American Horror star will “epitomize the very efficient, brash, fast-moving, bitchy manager.” In meeting with Bates, Dolan says he was instantly comforted that she embraced the cliches of her Ari Gold-like role.
