All right, people. It’s done. Well, except one exterior scene that we couldn’t shoot because of the snowstorm, which we will have to shoot in the near future.
I’m sorry I haven’t been blogging, but trust me when I tell you, every spare minute I had outside of work was used to catch as much sleep as possible. 40 nights of shooting in the freezing cold. I’m surprised my cast & crew showed up every single night. I was lucky. Everybody was great and really involved in the film.
There were a few surreal incidents that happened during the shoot. One was that for the first week of shooting, every time Ray Stevenson stepped in front of the camera, it started raining. It gave us all goose bumps because Ray portrayed Frank Castle with all his pain and history so well that the rain was perfect for the dark mood and feeling of those scenes. I’m sure everybody will think I used rain machines, but cross my heart and hope to die, there were no rain machines.
The other even more bizarre incident was during a scene we call the Alley Fight. The location looked beautiful and pretty much everybody was mesmerized by the colors and lights we had chosen for it. It wasn’t until the next day when we watched dailies in my trailer that we realized there was a huge lit-up skull -- identical to the Punisher skull -- glowing through the front door of a building in the background. I immediately complimented my DP and the key gaffer on the great idea, but they were as stunned as I was. Nobody had planned that. It just appeared.
That’s pretty much how the whole movie went for us and other than the two major snowstorms we had to endure, the movie Gods were clearly on our side. The cast was fantastic and they all exceeded my expectations. Ray was so intense and he really, really became the Punisher. Dominic made Jigsaw so much more than he was on the page. I finally got to work with Doug Hutchinson and boy oh boy, does he have some acting chops!
Colin Salmon and Dash Mihok were brilliant in their respective roles as Agent Paul Budiansky and Detective Martin Soap. They also received a huge standing ovation from the crew when they wrapped because of their constant professionalism and kindness to every member of the crew. Julie Benz as Angela Donattelli was amazing and she is one of the sweetest people I have ever met.
There are two actors I cast once I was on location whom I haven’t introduced. Im so glad they were available because they are both very, very special.

In the new year I will get back into it with refueled energy and enthusiasm. No time to waste with a 12th of September release date. Stay tuned, I’m sure more stories about the shoot will pop back into my head that I’d like to share with you all.

Acabo de hacer un preorder en amazon, el 5 de mayo sale en USA el comic en edición de lujo con tapa dura (y espero que con bocetos y entrevistas) con la saga de GRANT-ZECK del 85 Circle of Blood. Una puta maravilla. 14 us dollars el preorder. Tengo en este misma colección, Spiderman- Kravens Last Hunt y X Men- God Loves Man Kills.
Una fotito nueva, gracias a comic en 8mm. Bueno, nueva nueva no es, lo único que cambia es la posición. Mientras en la 1ª está de rodillas en el suelo ahora está de pie.Cita:

Parece (ahora que se ve en grande) que le han puesto una especie de protector que le cubre el cuello. Ese traje tiene pinta de ser de artificero desactivador de bombas.
Intimida más que el Jane, por careto y espaldas.
Lo que daría por ver que lo situan en el vietnam en la guerra y que allí es ya un hijodelagradisimaput# y no la mierda de preview que nos dieron en la extended edition con irak.

Joder, pero ambientar a Frank Castle en vietnam sería desastroso, no tendría ni piés ni cabeza... a no ser que fuese Rambo:disimulo
Por cierto, séré de los pocos fans que tiene el Castigador de Jonathan Hensleigh, es una peli que me encanta... y no veo mejor Castigador que Thomas Jane.
Supongo que esta nueva peli no estará mal, y le gustará a más gente... pero yo tendré mi "The Punisher" de 2004, y del to feliz... lástima no poder ver más del que es para mi el auténtico Castigador.

La del 2004 se tomaron demasiadas libertades en el guión y no es fiel al original. Coge un poco de aquí y un poco de allá de los comics pero se pierde en subtramas y en otros personajes cuando se debe de centrar en el castigador.
El principal fallo es que la muerte de su familia en los comics es casual, al ser testigos de un ajuste de cuentas, un accidente, no una venganza planeada por Howard Saint como respuesta a la muerte de su hijo. Una vez que Punisher mata a los culpables (la familia Saint) debería de terminar ahí su venganza (que no castigo). Punisher ve como culpables a todos los criminales.
Además, esta está ambientada en New York, no en Florida.:doh

ése es el auténtico Castigador.
personalmente Thomas no me parecio demasiado bestia y la peli aunque me gusto bastante, es muy light de como tendria que ser, ademas, la de thomas jane son trozos de comics e inventadas, y la de este año no es una secuela, sino un remake (he oido decir por USA), ya que en esta es como realmente empieza, y es donde se ve las caras con su archienemigo, ademas aunque la serie Roma no la haya visto, me pega mas este actor que thomas jane, y violencia no faltara, jeje, por fin una peli de accion para mayores mayores...

Por lo que parece, han echado a la directora de la película, Lexi Alexander, y al compositor musical, después de que apareciera el trailer red band de esta película. Eso no puede ser buena señal, ¿no? :P
Yo ya me espero un "cacao" de parches pegados por aquí y por allí, de modo que pueda salir algo a la luz de una manera en la que no estaba pensada inicialmente. Miedo me da.

Otro caso HITMAN.
Alguien intenta hacer una película "adulta" (bueno, dejémoslo en "oscura"), claramente merecedora de una calificación de "hard R", y el estudio se asusta... así que se la quita de las manos y trata de hacer un remontaje para salvar los muebles en el que se ha quedado gran parte de la violencia pero se ha perdido la coherencia y cualquier rastro de ambigüedad.
Vaya... yo que me había ilusionado con esta versión, y ahora voy a tener que esperar diez años más a que no tengan otra cosa mejor que hacer y saquen por fin el "director's cut" auténtico...
Realmente teneis esperanzas con esta pelicula???

Yo no dudo que salga un gran truño, pero por los pocos minutos que me proporcione de barbarie (tal como reventar la cara de un tipo con un solo puñetazo), ya tienen mi entrada.
