Parece que por fin Raimi va a cumplir su sueño de adaptar "La sombra", ya lo intentó en el 90, pero al no conseguir los derechos creó a "Darkman". Recordemos que en los noventa salió una versión producida por Universal, ahora los derechos los tiene Sony, espero que Raimi no pase el mismo infierno que le le hizo pasar Sony con Spiderman. Yo lo tengo claro, el primer día, en el cine como un clavo.

Sam Raimi to Direct ‘The Shadow’ Next?

Now that Sam Raimi won’t be directing another addition to the Spider-Man series, what will he turn his attention to next? The public dispute with Sony brass leaves his schedule wide open, and some have speculated he’ll focus on Warner Bros’ Warcraft movie or the previously announced adaptation of Dennis Lehane’s “The Given Day.”
IESB has learned Raimi may be interested in helming a new version of The Shadow, rebooting the crime fighting vigilante in a different direction than the odd 1994 movie starring Alec Baldwin. He’s already attached to produce a feature on the property, but the rumor suggests he’s eager to get back in the director’s chair.
The Shadow started as a 30’s radio serial that included the voice of Orson Welles before being adapted as a comic book series and five films. The character assumes several identities as a master of disguises and hypnotism.
Written by Siavash Farahanl, the updated material sounds like the kind of campy fun Raimi is known for. Their positive script review likens the feel to Batman Begins (like all origin stories it seems) and says there’s several brutal fights scenes. Apparently there’s even a little nudity and some gruesome gore, though who knows if the R-rating will remain intact.
The strangest thing about this possibility is it puts Raimi immediately back in business with Sony, the studio he just battled with on the cancelled Spider-Man 4. We’ll have to wait and see if this is Raimi’s next movie, but right now it sounds more likely than starting World of Warcraft since a screenwriter was hired in October. If The Shadow is anything like Raimi’s Darkman or as much fun as his last movie, Drag Me to Hell, count me in.
