Aeropuerto (Airport, 1970, George Seaton, Henry Hathaway) y secuelas
Se llevaba rumoreando desde finales del pasado año, y parece que al fin se hará realidad: Kino Lorber, a través de su sello Studio Classics, lanzará un pack con las cuatro películas de la saga "Aeropuerto": Aeropuerto, Aeropuerto 75, Aeropuerto 77 y Aeropuerto 80 (titulada esta última en realidad "The Concorde... Airport '79"). El lanzamiento se prevé para el 30 de septiembre en USA:

Los únicos detalles al respecto es que los cuatro films partirán de nuevos masters en 4K HDR Dolby Vision, y que se venderán en pack y (posiblemente, aun no es seguro) por separado.
Veremos qué podemos esperar de estas ediciones. La primera Aeropuerto se filmó en 65mm Todd-AO, con 2,20x1 de relación de aspecto, así que la gran pregunta será si para esta peli han partido del negativo original, o de alguna copia en 35mm. Obviamente, al ser Kino, que nadie espere ningún tipo de subtitulado español... probablemente solo vendrán con subtítulos en inglés SDH.

Kino ha especificado más detalles sobre la primera película en su página web, y hablan de un master sacado del "negativo original en 35mm":

Probablemente sea una equivocación, y se refieran a un interpositivo en 35mm, porque como comenté en el primer post, la peli se rodó en negativo de 65mm:

Así que, todo parece indicar que, al igual que la edición de "Un horizonte muy lejano", nos tendremos que conformar con un master escaneado de un elemento de segunda generación.
La buena noticia es que esta información parece confirmar que las pelis (al menos la primera), tendrán ediciones independientes.

Es irónico que indique OCN, cuando en realidad han tirado de la copia en 35mm (al igual que Shout con "Un horizonte muy lejano"), puesto que Universal tampoco ha cedido/restaurado el OCN en 70mm...
Eso sí, para títulos de "indudable valor histórico" como "Happy Gilmore", no han escatimado en nada para escanear en 6K del OCN :descolocao

Lo de anunciar escaneados del negativo original de cámara ya hace tiempo que empezó a ser una cuestión publicitaria más que una realidad.
No recuerdo ahora que película era, que también anunciaba un escaneo original de cámara, lo cual era imposible ya que la película estaba llena de efectos digitales lo que hacía imposible (salvo rehacer los efectos) que el escaneado procediera del negativo original de cámara. De una copia limpísima en 35mm todavía, pero no del negativo de cámara.
Por eso digo, que más que una realidad, es un truco publicitario.

Por una vez, me gustan muchísimo más la ediciones sueltas. Si no sería porque seguramente saldrán más baratas en pack, me plantearía seriamente comprarlas por separado.

En Universe of entertainment tienen disponibles ya las ediciones sueltas. Son realmente tentadoras…. pero 158€ por las cuatro pelis me parece una barbaridad. Cogería todas por completismo, pero me estoy pensando seriamente comprar solo las tres primeras (la del Concorde era la más floja con diferencia).
Tengo que darle una pensada, a ver si me espero al pack o que.
Qué dilema del primer mundo :P

El pack con los cuatro films retrasa su salida en USA al 28 de octubre, presumiblemente por el cambio de diseño. Las pelis sueltas mantienen su fecha del 30 de septiembre:

70 y 75 yo diría que se ven de lujo, con todo su grano intacto y en general con una imagen muy notoria para una película de su época rodada en celuloide.
