Disney’s Alice in Wonderland Returns with a New 4K Restoration,
Arriving on Digital and 4K Ultra HD™ Blu-ray May 5

BURBANK, CA (April 8, 2026) – In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Disney’s animated classic Alice in Wonderland returns in a stunning new 4K restoration, available on digital and 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray May 5. The newly restored film will debut with a special one-night-only premiere at the TCM Film Festival on May 1, offering audiences an early look at the vibrant, meticulously remastered and restored presentation before it’s in-home release.

In celebration of its 75th anniversary, Alice in Wonderland has been meticulously restored and remastered in 4K Ultra HD by the Walt Disney Film Restoration team. Over nine months, artists completed a digital scan of the original nitrate Successive Exposure (SE) negatives, followed by extensive clean-up to address dust, warping, and age-related wear. The team also referenced original production artwork preserved by the Walt Disney Animation Research Library to ensure the restoration remained true to the filmmakers’ original intent, collaborating closely with Walt Disney Animation Studios veteran Michael Giaimo to review every shot and refine color and luminance.

“The original animation artists’ work on Alice in Wonderland is stunning, and we’re proud to present it with renewed clarity and vibrancy,” said Kevin Schaeffer, Director of Restoration & Library Management. “This milestone restoration brings new depth and dimension to the film’s imaginative world, offering a vibrant presentation for longtime fans and a new generation of audiences alike.”

Viewers eager to go further down the rabbit hole will find a robust collection of bonus features on the Blu-ray and Digital release, offering rare behind-the-scenes and archival material. Highlights include reference footage with commentary by Alice herself, Kathryn Beaumont, along with classic companion shorts such as Thru the Mirror featuring Mickey Mouse and Alice’s Wonderland from the original Alice Comedies, a selection of deleted scenes, and music videos including “Beware the Jabberwock” and “If You’ll Believe in Me.”

While the film may never answer the riddle “Why is a raven like a writing desk?”, this 75th anniversary edition invites audiences to rediscover its wit, artistry, and enduring charm. The 75th anniversary restoration of Alice in Wonderland presents itself as a very merry “unbirthday” gift for generations of audiences to come.

Sí, ahora lo acabo de ver, ya que me lo has dicho. Pues que raro. Viendo que lo hicieron con las otras dos, esto huele a que Disney no da permiso.

Pues a importar toca.

O Disney no quiere (lo cual no tiene sentido), o los últimos clásicos en 4K no vendieron lo suficiente para que Divisa quiera editarlas aquí. Una pena en cualquier de los casos :(

Esperemos que se pueda importar con facilidad. Porque el steel 4K de Zootropolis 2, resulta misión imposible.
Y a ver que pasa con el steel 4K americano de Hoppers...

El steel de zootrópolis 2 estaba para reservar en todas partes, pero parece que se contagiaron de Arvi, porque sólo lo recibieron unos pocos afortunados. Eso sí, en ebay estaba, pero con un precio multiplicado por 2 en el mejor de los casos.

Afortunadamente, esta es una edición estándar amaray normal, asi que no debería tener problemas.. ahora, nunca digo nunca, porque ha habido casos también de problemas de stock con ediciones sencillas, pero al contrario que los steelbooks, vuelven a tener stock otra vez con el tiempo.

Yo intentaré pillarmela lo mas pronto posible aunque me duelan esos 45 pavazos, o más. Porque ya me perdí Blancanieves y Cenicienta en sus ediciones de USA con cajita de cartón, no quiero perderme estas. Al final me acabé pillando las ediciones españolas en BF, pero desearía sobremanera que fuesen las de USA con slips, además que las de USA tienen discos BDs nuevos y no los que yo ya tengo..

Me refería a zootrópolis 2 en 4K. Disponible está, pero de una manera un poco rara. Sólo por vendedores externos y por 98,85 $. Yo la pedí en febrero a amazon y aquí sigo esperando. Por eso digo que me recuerda a algunos steels de Arvi en amazon.es.

Como dice Ponyo, Alicia es amaray y no debería pasar eso.

Un recordatorio para los interesados: la edición se queda solo en USA y Japón, pero la edición contiene el doblaje de toda la vida en el disco, y subtitulos.
