Watched this last night and thought it was, for the most part, lovely. I do think grain has been massaged just a little, but it’s rarely, if ever, egregious, and I doubt most people will even notice. There were a handful of shots that looked a touch too cleaned up for my tastes, but generally speaking grain is visible and provides a nice, filmic texture. In short: this is no Goonies, so no need to worry.

Despite any possible “management,” there is absolutely no shortage of fine detail here. Subtle textures like patterns in fabric and stray hairs are explosively detailed - you can pretty much see every individual thread in sweaters and jackets.

HDR is very nicely handled, too, lending dynamism to every frame while only rarely calling attention to itself. The times it does go into “pop” mode are mostly whenever flames show up on screen, which definitely induced squinting via my ~1400-nit-peak-brightness display.

I haven’t seen the Arrow BD, but it probably goes without saying that this easily trounces the Scream Factory BD. All that ugly sharpening is gone, and (I’m going from memory, so don’t quote me on this) the blue cast seems toned down considerably.

Very happy with this disc overall. Maybe not quite perfect, but close enough.
Parece que bastante bien. Aunque es posible que hayan tratado ligeramente el grano, no han suavizado tanto la imagen como en Los Goonies (donde prácticamente ni se ve, añado).

Video: A solid upgrade. Small object detail stands out: the rock patterns on the opening ELS, the dog kennel hay, the frozen over bits all over various buildings and structures,. and obviously all the icky gooey wonders from Bottin and Winston are the star attractions. The HDR really brings out all the different colors and tones within each set piece. The grain field seemed softer; nothing stood out for me, but I could still see definite skin pores so maybe someone with a larger screen could have a more definitive review in that regard.

Sound: The DTS:X does its job. There are moments where I miss the 4.1 surrounds (Mac pumping the propane lantern O.S. at the Norwegian camp, Naul's music filling Outpost 31's halls while the camera creeps around, the hay shuddering tentacles O.S. while Clark approaches the dark kennel room), but still, Morricone's strings and brass really take over the whole field to awesome effect, and the LEF adds some mmph to gunshots, explosions etc.

A worthy upgrade for your collections.
Parecido. La textura de grano parece que la han suavizado ligeramente pero merece la pena la edición.

A ver qué tal cuando vayan saliendo las reviews "profesionales".
