Review de la edición USA: estamos de suerte esta vez

There are good days to be reviewing a Paramount catalog release, there are rough days, and then there are great days. I’m chalking up this new 2160p Dolby Vision transfer in the latter category. Scrooged has always had a pretty decent life on home video but this new 4K is terrific. Facial features, fine lines, clothing textures, the ‘80s decor, the grimy New York streets, and the decayed remnants of one particular ghost are all on display. Film grain is naturally rendered and pleasingly cinematic without any smartness or bitrate dropouts. Textures and fine details remain consistent throughout without issue. The Dolby Vision HDR grade is equally lovely letting the deep unsettling blacks look nice and inky with stronger shadows and a better three-dimensional sense of depth. Whites in the snow and the television set are brilliantly crisp. Primaries get ample attention and there are some really nice spectral highlights to observe. Skin tones are natural and healthy without looking too pink or peached out orange. All around a pretty damn terrific transfer.

Impresionante 4K. La he visto hoy y luce de 10.
Por cierto no sabía que los extras se hicieron para un DVD de hace 17 años que no llegó a salir nunca según leo en Facebook
Jeremiah, the interesting thing about the 4K release of Scrooged is that the extras were created for an abandoned DVD release from Paramount 17 years before the 4K release came out. If you’re a fan of the film, the 4K release is the best the film has looked. And it’s great to have some extras (even if they’re 17-year-old never-before-seen extras) outside of just the trailer.
