Kino Lorber have detailed their upcoming 4K Blu-ray and Blu-ray releases of Peter Collinson's The Italian Job (1969), starring Michael Caine, Noël Coward, Benny Hill, Raf Vallone, and Tony Beckley. The two releases will be available for purchase on January 31.

Description: Forget about the straight and narrow. Clever con Charlie Croker (Michael Caine) intends to go straight to the bank. Fresh from the slammer, he begins work on a heist that will either set him up for life-or send him up forever. Croker and his unruly lot of thieves take on the mob, the police and the gridlock traffic of Turin to rob a heavily armed shipment of gold bullion in The Italian Job.

Entertainment legend Noel Coward (in his last film role) costars in this open-throttle caper as criminal mastermind Bridger. And Benny Hill, Raf Vallone and Rossano Brazzi add to the story's fun and suspense as it zips from plan to robbery to escape to an ending that's a cliffhanger in every sense of the word! El remasterizado 4K es buenísimo en sí, pero se han pasado tres pueblos, pero tres pueblos con la colorimetría, y no sé por qué.

Por cierto, hilo equivocado, esa peli es la de 1969, el tema es de la de 2003..

El 3 de junio de 2024, Paramount lanzará una edición "coleccionista" 55 aniversario de la película en UK.

PD: Creo que está chulo de diseño, pero las UCE de Warner le dan tres mil vueltas a esto.

Viene con un lingote de oro auténticamente auténtico. En realidad estas ganando dinero comprándola.

Una amaray con 4 cartones, uno de ellos pintado de amarillo y 50 €. No recuerdes el pasado por favor, Trek, es doloroso. Y bueno, por lo menos nosotros lo vivimos y fuimos parte de el, si yo empezara ahora la afición viendo lo que hubo antes me dedicaría a hacer ganchillo.

Según estoy leyendo en Blu-ray.com, parece que el UHD de Paramount no solo tiene un mejor encode que el de Kino si no que **parece** (a falta de ver capturas) que no tiene el color tan exagerado que tenía el UHD de Kino.

Sorprendente. Estaré atento a ver si alguien hace capturas..

Edit: yep, this is a REALLY nice encode. It's broken the streak of no metadata = garbage encode on Paramount UHDs, can't help but wonder if this was done by the crew who did those recent Par UHD do-overs in Europe. The Panny's bitrate meter isn't perfick, so take this with a pinch of salt, but at one point this hits 181 Mb/s (!) inc the DV layer when the Minis are in the tunnel. It's not just about peaks tho, it's about putting the right bits into the right places and even in quieter scenes, foggier scenes or shots with skies the bitrate doesn't drop thru the floor. And before someone says "but the Kino is on a 100GB disc while this is just a 66", the Kino is one of their mediocre hard-limited base layers with an 18 Mb/s DV layer that gets slapped on regardless, and as the movie is a mere 93 minutes long with only a few extra language tracks - and mere mono at that - on the Par then a UHD66 is more than enough.

And I'll give AVF their due: the colour on this is nowhere near as hot hot hot as the Kino, the skies are no longer raging teal and skin tones don't run to various shades of hot pink. If I didn't know any betterer I'd say that the Kino has been pushed into forced 2020 which is what's setting off the reds and greens like that.

Genial. Gracias. Yo me esperaré a una edición con el amaray solo o un steelbook para emparejar con el del remake.. Lo que venga primero.

Comentar que he recibido la edición italiana y aunque en la imagen de la ficha la caja viene con texto en inglés, en realidad todo el texto, título incluido, están en italiano. Tanto la funda como la carátula del amaray.
