So, based on what I was reading here, I sprung for the "Ultra" ($99) version. However, what I got seems just to be the BluRay version -- there is no mention of HD-DVD anywhere in the software, and Cyberlink's own "BD Adviser" software says that I don't have the right version of PowerDVD in order to play HD-DVD. The "Activation" page also says that I have the "Deluxe" version (not "Ultra').
When I bought it, I just clicked on the "Buy It Now" link in the main description page, where it clearly says that HD-DVD is supported.
Anyway, those of you whose copies do play HD-DVD, could you tell me the version of your PowerDVD. The one that I was shipped says "PowerDVD Version 7.2(Ultra)" SR Number "DVD061206-05" (don't know whether that number is private to me, but don't think that it is).
Thank you all for your help -- uninstalling, then reinstalling with the XBOX drive attached caused the correct version to be installed. Interesting that they default to the "BD" version if there is no compatible drive found.
