Kyokushinkai se ve que entiendes a la perfeccion el manejo del lumagen,ya me gustaria pillar uno pero es un precio que no me lo puedo permitir,en cambio el DVDO iscan duo podria hincarle el diente,llega a funcionar para un aficionado medio bien?y sacar resurtados parpables con su CMS completo?,olvidando de que el soporte tecnico de Lumagen es lo mejor de lo mejor?

Normalmente la gente tiraba por el DVDO Duo por el precio y facilidad en el manejo. El Lumagen está más orientado a niveles profesionales. Lo que sucede, es que con el lanzamiento del mini 3D (que es exactamente igual a sus hermanos mayores) ya compite en precio con el DVDO, aunque aún así es más caro que el DVDO.

Y a la pregunta: ¿Se pueden obtener resultados excelentes con el DVDO? Claro que se puede, pero el Lumagen en todo el apartado relacionado con la calibración es superior. ¿Razones? Pues ya lo he comentado en el anterior post, pero si has leído la review que ha puesto pelayo en el otro hilo verás que básicamente dice lo mismo:

The DVDO offers up to 11 points of grayscale/gamma calibration, at predefined levels of brightness spaced across the full range. The Lumagen offers up to 21 points and allows you to choose where you position those points—that is, the specific brightness levels that need the most attention. As I mentioned before, most displays offer only two points, effectively making your calibration the same as holding a noodle at two ends and trying to tweak it to make it straight. If you have multipoint adjustments such as those offered by both processors, you can tweak individual spots along the noodle, which allows for a far more accurate picture across the board. Once you have used such adjustments to dial in the grayscale and gamma, you’ll never want to go back to a standard display’s adjustments. You’ll quickly find out how limiting and frustrating it can be. Keep in mind, again, that performing these grayscale adjustments requires specialized test instruments used by professional technicians/calibrators.

On the CMS side, both video processors allow the end user to adjust the primary color points (red, green, blue) and secondary color points (yellow, cyan, magenta) for saturation, hue, and brightness. The Lumagen uses RGB values for this, which takes a little getting used to. The DVDO uses the CIE xyY values, which can also be frustrating if you don’t have a way of knowing what the measured values are. This will depend largely on the calibration software you’re using. I found both work once you understand how to use them, but the Lumagen offered the most complete control. The DVDO wasn’t as linear across multiple levels of brightness stimulation as the Lumagen. This is similar to what we see with a lot of CMS features in displays. The DVDO did better than most of the displays I’ve used, but didn’t offer the refinement of the Lumagen in this regard.

Y sobre si un DVDO va a superar en materia de calibración a los dispositivos de visualización, como, por ejemplo, un Sony 95, pues va a depender de la calidad de los controles implementados en el Sony, y la experiencia demuestra que los controles que incluyen los fabricantes en sus televisores y proyectores están lejos de los niveles de precisión y calidad que pueden ofrecer Lumagen y Duo. Creo que el DVDO es superior a cualquier dispositivo de visualización o HTPC. Solo se ve superado por Lumagen.

Al final todo es cuestión de calidades, y la calidad es = pasta. No conozco a nadie que regale euros a 50 centimos. Por ejemplo: Si uno no quiere gastarse pasta puede tirar para calibrar de un HTPC (dá igual el que sea), HCFR y una Eye One D2 del año del cascorro, pero que nadie se engañe y pretenda hacernos cree que una opción así es similar a un Lumagen o DVDO Scan Duo con ChromaPure y Display 3PRO porque sencillamente están a años luz.
