James Bobin (The Muppets) en conversaciones con Disney para dirigir la secuela de Alicia en el País de las Maravillas de Tim Burton.
James Bobin in Early Talks to Direct ‘Alice in Wonderland’ Sequel (EXCLUSIVE)
'Into the Looking Glass'
“The Muppets” director James Bobin is in early talks with Disney to helm its sequel to “Alice in Wonderland”.
Bobin is currently lensing the Mouse House’s “The Muppets … Again!”.
Linda Woolverton is penning the script for the sequel to Tim Burton’s “Alice in Wonderland”, the 2010 hit that starred Mia Wasikowska as Alice and Johnny Depp as the Mad Hatter. The 3D film went on to earn $1 billion worldwide and scored Oscars for art direction and costume design. Working title is “Into the Looking Glass”.
Joe Roth, Suzanne Todd and Jennifer Todd would return as producers.
Disney’s first “Alice” pic is already is being developed as a musical by Disney Theatrical Prods, with Rob Ashford set to direct based on a script that Woolverton also wrote. Stage version will follow the plot of the “Alice” movie.
The “Alice” sequel is the latest fantasy tale Disney is currently lensing or developing along with big budget fantasy tales, including “Maleficent”, “Cinderella”, “Peter and the Starcatchers” and “Magic Kingdom” that feature characters found in its theme parks. “Oz the Great and Powerful” bowed in March.
Bobin’s credits include HBO’s TV musical series “Flight of the Conchords”.
Una pena que no la dirija Burton (la película me gustó) pero bueno tendré interés igualmente ya que me atrae la novela de Carroll.

"The people who criticized lack of focus on Batman were missing the point of the character of Batman. This guy wants to remain as hidden as possible, and in the shadows as possible, and unrevealing about himself as possible, so all of those things - you know, he’s not gonna eat up screen time by these big speeches and doing dancing around the Batcave"

Aunque El Llanero Solitario haya sido un gran fracaso, Disney sigue apostando por Johnny Depp para que vuelva al País de las Maravillas.
Johnny Depp in Final Talks for Disney’s ALICE IN WONDERLAND Sequel Directed by James Bobin
It’s no surprise that after the lackluster performance of Disney’s The Lone Ranger, star Johnny Depp is reported as being in final talks for a sequel to the studio’s highly lucrative Alice in Wonderland. Depp starred as the Mad Hatter in the original picture which grossed over a billion dollars worldwide. Director James Bobin (The Muppets) steps in for Tim Burton this time around. Deadline also reports that the sequel is part of a relatively new multi-year deal between Depp and Disney that will allow him to produce movies at the studio. Depp was in the news earlier this week when it was announced that he’d play the title role in Lionsgate’s Mortdecai. He hopes to fit that particular film in between his roles in the Disney productions Into the Woods and Pirates of the Caribbean 5.
Que no la dirija Burton es mala noticia, quién mejor que él, pero está metido de lleno en Big Eyes, proyecto que promete pero aún así sería una buena noticia que repita Depp. A ver qué sale.
