After weighing the arguments of others as well as images of the Alien 3 Dog Alien bust, it seems as though that is exactly what this new image could be of. Obviously with so much secrecy shrouding Alien: Covenant as well as its creature designs, many of us are chomping at the bit to know more. For the time being however, we're going to rule out that this is NOT in fact indicative of what the new Aliens will look like in Covenant:
Here is the original image:
Each department working on Alien: Covenant seems to be receiving some pretty sweet thank-you gifts from their department heads and Fox! One of the more recent to be shared is this Alien: Covenant poster, which was gifted to those working on the film's new Aliens - the "Creature Crew". The poster itself is quite magnificent, featuring an iconic Facehugger, along with various sketches outlining the organism's inner workings.
According to Ridley Scott, Alien: Covenant will be "re-introducing" the Facehugger, Chestburster and Xenomorph in a horrifying new way - one Scott teases will outdo the 1979 original Chestburster scene!
We're very excited to see what comes next. Fans all over the world are currently discussing the marketing and production for Alien: Covenant at length in our forums. If you're a hard core Alien fanatic, be sure to join in! This journey is just getting started:
Lacey Malice, one of the crew who have been working tirelessly on Alien: Covenant the last few weeks in Australia. As you can see (below as well) she's sporting a very cool looking USCSS COVENANT crew jacket, similar to the ones Fox teased a few months back. The Weyland-Yutani Covenant patch is embroidered on the sleeve:
Noomi Rapace Info on Instagram shared another photo, of a similar jacket, again sporting the same patch:
But what's got us most excited is this new photo Alien: Covenant effects crew, Odd Studio just shared to Instagram. The photo below is of a few of Odd Studio employees and actor Danny McBride!:
Now, if you look closely... you can see a Xenomorph on the front of the ball cap of the gentleman on the far right. Here is a zoomed in shot.
The emblem itself looks more inline to that of the classic Weyland logo. I would also like to note that this seems like a "fan-made" cap and therefore is not indicative of what the Xenomorph in Alien: Covenant will look like, nor does its patch represent one that will be in the film. I doubt the company would plaster a Xenomorph to the front of their brand logo. But regardless, it is interesting!:
logo is clearly based on the Holy Grail, with the two Seraphim touching wings. This refers to alchemy, which means to fuse with God (Al = God; Khemi (chemistry) = Fusion). Since alchemy is a sexual process we may see this as alluding to the ultimate intention; to fuse with the xenomorph as an equal? Instead of being ‘taken over’ or defeated by the xeno?
What doesn’t kill you makes you stronger. Imagine the perspective of the Engineers, which would be to take two ultra violent species and set them off against each other with the intention of engineering a super species – one much more violent than the parts could possibly be together.
Also, if you look at a Caduceus with the two serpents entwined around a staff (3.5 times each, both adding to 7) with the tails not yet touching, these are the two species; Ida and Pingala, or maybe human and xeno? The next stage of evolution is when the two tails / wings connect and create a spark (the legend of Prometheus), this spark then creates the next level being.
The androids Ash and David had this in their program to assist in the two fusing together. Remember Ripley’s seemingly confusing love for the xeno at the end of A3, and her obsession to return to face them in A2?
