El cineasta británico Kenneth Branagh vuelve a trabajar para Disney (Thor, Cenicienta) nuevamente en una adaptación, en esta ocasión para llevar a la gran pantalla el primer libro de la serie superventas de Eoin Colfer. Artemis Fowl se desarrolla en Inglaterra, Irlanda del Norte y Ho Chi Minh City, con un reparto formado por Judi Dench, Josh Gad, Nonso Anozie, Tamara Smart, Josh McGuire y Hong Chau.
Branagh trae consigo a varios miembros de su equipo creativo, incluido Haris Zambarloukos, director de fotografía; Jim Clay, diseñador de producción; Patrick Doyle, compositor; y Carol Hemming, diseñadora de peluquería y maquillaje, que trabajaron en Asesinato en el Orient Express, película que dirigió Branagh en 2017. La diseñadora de vestuario es Sammy Sheldon Differ (Assassin's Creed), y el montaje de la película correrá a cargo de Martin Walsh (Wonder Woman).
Sinopsis: Artemis Fowl es un joven genio de 12 años descendiente de una legendaria familia de mentes criminales que se ve envuelto en una batalla de fuerza y astucia contra una poderosa y oculta raza de hadas que podrían estar detrás la desaparición de su padre. El debutante Ferdia Shaw interpreta al protagonista, mientras que Lara McDonnell (Los imprevistos del amor) da vida a la capitana Holly Short, una elfa luchadora y enérgica, que Artemis secuestra para pedir a las hadas oro a cambio de su rescate.

Uy, como se va la vida.
Leí los libros en mi infancia, con lo que se habían tardado en hacerle película, pensé que ya nunca la harían.
Sin embargo, ahora que finalmente veo el tráiler, no me despierta hype alguno.
Todo se ve tan genérico. Me da la impresión que le van a drenar lo que la hacia peculiar para irse a la "segura" copiando todo lo posible la estética de Harry Potter.
Puntos menos por no conseguir a The Rock o a Jason Statham (o ya de menos a Batista) para el papel del mayordomo, parecía escrito para ellos.
Muy de acuerdo, el teaser tiene algunos planos que se ven desde ya muy de Branagh. Para mí Potter tiene una calidad media bastante buena, pero sí la tercera entrega (dirigida por otro directoruelo del montón (nótese la ironía) llamado Cuarón, pues eso que, a mí también me parece lo mejor de la saga cinematográficamente hablando.
Por cierto, ¿en V.O. la voz es la de Judi Dench (en plan cazallera)? más que nada porque en laversión doblada sí creo que la voz es la habitual de ella.

Columbus es correcto. Muy correcto. No es Yates, pero no es nada destacable como director en cuanto a planificación visual.

¿Branagh? el director de....Hamlet, Frankenstein de Mary Shelley, Mucho ruido y pocas nueces ... pero el que también ha perpetrado....Thor, Jack Ryan: Operación Sombra, Asesinato en el Orient Express, Cenicienta, Trabajos de amor perdidos.... es que pensaba que hablabais de algún otro Branagh que fuese un director TOP.
Orient Express (¡esos travellings y contrapicados!) y Love Labour Lost son cojonudas, y ya quisieran el resto de mercenarios de la industria tener bodrios como Jack Ryan y Thor. Que son flojas dentro de su filmografía, ¿pero bodrios?
PD: Me asombra que pongas Frankenstein en el saco de las buenas cuando se la suele cargar todo cristo en este país. Demuestras tener criterio, compi .
Director TOP, efectivamente. Su conocimiento del lenguaje cinematográfico y su combinación con recursos teatrales es en cierto modo única.
Jamás he dicho que todas sus películas sean joyas.

Yo diría un poco lo mismo, si Branagh ha perpetrado esa Cenienta (tan bien rodada, tan romántica sin ser empalagosa -gracias a una Lily James y un Richard Madden perfectos en sus papeles- y con una Blanchett que como siempre, lo borda)... qué decir de algunas otras adaptaciones a imagen real de Disney.
Respecto a Thor, pues sí, puede ser algo soso, pero por el toque shakesperiano, yo la salva (y diría que es mejor que la segunda entrega) y su jack Ryan, pues vale, tampoco es el no vamás, pero, por lo menos me tuvo entretenido.
Trabajos de amor perdidos, para mí es una pequeña joya, aunque sólo sea por los redaños que hay que tener para hermanarr a Cole Porter, George Gershwin o Irving Berlin con Shakespeare y no morir en el intento y obtener pues eso, una obra ligera (lo que es el original).
Por último, yo también he uno al grupo de admiradores del Frankestein de Branagh, para mí una de sus mayores obras (y en el caso de Doyle, diría que su verdadera obra magna).

Coñe, a mi Murder on the Orient Express me parece una entretenidisima (y muy bien rodada con un reparto jarto potente) cinta.
Ok, compro lo de Jack Ryan, tan entretenida como OLVIDABLE. Y Cenicienta me parece una mas que entretenida y muy bien facturada peli.
Frankenstein, su mejor peli, problablemente.
