Ausencia de blockbusters, no ya americanos, tampoco va Besson
y en los eventos destacar la presencia de series de tv, lo cual es raro porque esto es un festival de cine, pero puede ser la tonica ir metiendo series de tv en festivales
asi como lo de meter 2 pelis de Netflix en seccion oficial

The film world is like a big community and in this big community, everyone has a place to exist. We are happy that at Cannes, this discussion [about Netflix and digital versus theatrical distribution of films] can unfold.
The fact of the matter is that these big services, Netflix and Amazon, recently emerged, and they could have decided that festivals didn’t matter at all. But instead they acknowledged that the hallowing of films by festivals, the press, professionals and the Croisette was important.
And there are also two TV series showing at the festival.
Cinema remains a singular art, and we want to emphasize this while keeping our eyes open on the world that surrounds it. And this world is more and more about TV series, virtual reality. Some filmmakers who are artists, like David Lynch, Iñárritu and Campion, are pioneers who experiment and try to invent new narrative means.

Sigue la polémica en torno al estreno en Cannes de dos filmes producidos por Netflix:

The Festival is pleased to welcome a new operator which has decided to invest in cinema but wants to reiterate its support to the traditional mode of exhibition of cinema in France and in the world. Consequently, and after consulting its Members of the Board, the Festival de Cannes has decided to adapt its rules to this unseen situation until now: any film that wishes to compete in Competition at Cannes will have to commit itself to being distributed in French movie theaters. This new measure will apply from the 2018 edition of the Festival International du Film de Cannes onwards.

Y la solución adoptada, desde la siguiente edición, no me termina de gustar, ya que obliga al estreno de los filmes en Francia para su selección en Cannes, lo que creo que va a provocar que se eligan películas más "seguras" de ser estrenadas (además que se estrenan lógicamente a posteriori, ya que llegan al festival recién saldias del horno). No veo que se eligan filmes que tal vez luego sea difícil de estrenar. Por ahora parece que la víctima va a ser Netflix, pero creo que también va a repercutir en eso, en filmes que antes se descubrían gracias al Festival y que ahora tal vez no se descubrar al tener que ser estrenados en Franca para poder competir en él. En definitiva que la sección oficial parece que, como se viene comentando desde hace años, va a reforzar su imagen de sala de estar para directores asíduos del festival que van a ver sus filmes estrenados en frnacia sin muchos problemas.
