La colección tiene las siguientes características:
Los 14 títulos ya editados anteriormente por Universal son exactamente los mismos. Por eso ni los Pájaros, ni Marnie... están en formato adecuado aunque así lo señala en la contraportada. P.ej: Marnie dice 1,78:1 y en realidad es 4:3. Esto debiera ser motivo de devolución.
Las películas que no existían anteriormente como, Crimen perfecto, Pánico en la escena, Falso culpable, ... no traen subtítulos en castellano sino en inglés.
La colección comienza por los títulos a los que les falta algo, continúa con los que están bien y acaba con los menos interesantes o antiguos.

Notorious Synopsis

La verdad es que tiene una pinta estupenda y siendo de MGM seguro que al menos las películas llevará subtítulos en castellano. La pena es el precio.
Las pelis están restauradas, pero es que en verdad lo que más juguillo tiene son los extras, con audio-comentarios, versiones radiofónicas dirigidas por el propio Hitchcock... Y eso no lo suelen subtitular...
Por cierto, donde han redactado la noticia se han equivocado y en "The Lodger" han puesto la sinopsis de la versión de los años 40 de Jhon Brahm, y no la de Hitchcock...

Espero que salgan también sueltas porque las tengo todas menos The Lodger y no me apetece comprarlas de nuevo sólo por los extras.
Junto con el pack de MGM, también en octubre Universal saca tres LEGACY SERIES dedicadas a Hitchcock, con tres de sus mejores películas. Supongo que serán copias idénticas a las que ya se encontraban en aquel mamotrético pack también de Universal de hace un par de años. La noticia la reseña DVDTimes:

¿Serán estas mis 5ªs ediciones de Vértigo o Psicosis en DVD o seré capaz de esperar al Blu-ray?![]()
Ofrecen, al menos, episodios de la serie, y extractos de la entrevista entre Hitchcock y Truffaut. Eso no venía antes. Lo demás ya no te sabría decir...
Ya se pueden preordenar por Amazon. Tienen una pinta increíble. Las portadas muy bien diseñadas

Lo que no se indica en ninguna parte es si los masters son los mismos utilizados en la última edición o si han sido mejorados. Tampoco se adelanta información sobre un posible lanzamiento en alta definición.
He revisado DVDBeaver y la mejor edición por lo menos de Vertigo, es la de esta cajita:
Anamórfica, 1.86:1. Los colores son más brillantes y nítidos que la anterior edición (de la misma compañía). Me parece que aún cuando esto ocupe el mismo master no habría nada que temer

A esa edición me refería. La caja "Masterpiece Collection" contenía remasterizaciones que mejoraban las ediciones previas. Posteriormente también estuvieron a la venta sueltas. Lo que no sabemos es si las nuevas copias son simples reediciones de las contenidas en la "Masterpiece..." (con distinta carátula y, quizá, otros extras) o si presentan mejoras de imágen (algo que podría ocurrir si preparan próximas ediciones en Alta Definición)
